		<description>For those who are carving pumpkins days in advance of Halloween, I&#039;ve been surfing the &#039;net and found that to preserve the carved pumpkin, the general consensus is to apply veg oil or petroleum jelly to the cut surfaces, cut into the pumpkin from the bottom rather than the top (as this prevents drying out) and to wipe the inside of the pumpkin with a dry cloth then wipe with bleach.
