It was an 8 point star following an Amish pattern. I did all of the sewing by hand. It was very easy , quilting is not as hard as people think. One tip OH bought me a quilting frame from Amazon , which was a great help when it came to the quilting bit. The frame came from Canada but was very quick delivery and was only about £80. It is made of plastic tubes which come apart when not being used, and can be raised at the back to put it at an angle.

brightspark on PATCHWORK

<guid

I have many duvet sets in different colours that have plenty of life left. The idea is that it won't matter what duvet cover is used as the quilt will hide it! Our room is to be blue and white eventually.

brightspark on PATCHWORK

<guid

Anyway, the material I had was very autumn-y colours, and went perfectly as curtains in our little renovated barn - oops! That's the trouble with not finishing the project once started! <img

The thing that I thought I would not use much is the stop/start button – the speed is set by a slider. I find that the foot control has hardly been out of its box, and I use that button most of the time. About the only time I use the foot control is when I am sewing elastic on, stretched, when I can't take my hand away to touch the button. It really is a delight to use.

<img
