So glad he is still holding his own; that is a good sign. Has his comb & wattles recovered some of their colour yet ?  Could you add a little yogurt to his pasta & I am sure that would help him. Do you put cider vinegar in with the water in the chickens' waterers (not in galvanised ones though, as it reacts with the metal).

I tried putting yogurt in the pasta but he didn't want it. I haven't tried cider vinegar but will. I think he is shutting down now. His comb and wattles are still very pale. The poos are still white and frothy.

Again expected the worst when letting them out this morning but Boris had moved to the floor and is currently just sitting hunched in the house. No sign of his coming out as yet. I am amazed!

He is obviously one tough bird, hanging in there like that. I hope he makes it.  I hate it when you go out in the morning expecting the worst. I went through that recently after Antony was attacked by his brother & nearly killed. He is a beautiful looking bird now.

He came out to eat this morning and there is a slight change in his comb and wattle, not so pale. He has now gone back in out of the rain. When he was out I put some corn on the ground in front of him and one of the girls starting pecking at it, he brushed her off! He has also been preening a bit and shaking his head to fluff his feathers. Better than yesterday but I am still not happy with his condition. He has had cider vinegar in his water this morning too. Still checking him hourly

Site has been down so unable to update until now.
The other chickens attacked Boris so he is now in a basket in front of the Esse with a hot water bottle. I have managed to get a small amount of yogurt and a bit of water in him but he is really not interested. He is in a very bad way now but seems peaceful and comfortable. I will keep him indoors until the end as I do not want him being bullied. I am upset but know I cannot do any more and he has had a great life with us. Thank you for all your support.

Still with us and now standing up. I am gradually getting a tin of sweet corn into him. He is pecking vigorously at the corn when I offer but only manages a few pieces. It will be a long night I think.

big_hug Aly. That's exactly what I do. He's a determined little chap isn't he?
