Due to health problems I am having to rehome my goats. They are Saanen crosses. All nice natured, friendly and used to kids and dogs. Easy to handle, lead, and hoof trip etc. Most are polled. several have kidded in the past with no problems. One is a high yield maiden milker (you will never dry her off). Looking for homes which are experienced and can offer proper accommodation  (not like the 4 foot high wooden boxes I was shown today) and have a CPH. I am in north Cambridgeshire.

 No dealers please.

Love your name!  Welcome aboard.  I'm saddened to hear that you have to lose your flock because of ill health and I hope that someone will be able to help out.  Do join in other subjects too won't you? toffeeapple

I'll try that again!

Hi. Are your goats still looking for homes?

I have an elderly Sanaan (with horns!) nanny, Nancy, heart who is an absolute sweetie.

I know she would love a companion as she lives with the geese, who sometimes are not very nice to her.thumbs_down

I have a CPH, and am in northeast Suffolk.

Poor lonely Nancy will have to stay lonely I'm afraid. It is not legal to house horned and unhorned goats together for obvious reasons. Got someone coming to look tomorrow but I am still looking for proper responsible homes for whatever she doesn't want.I offered them free in the hope that I will get lots of enquiries and sift through. I've had to turn away people who want to tether them and someone who wanted to house them in 4 foot high sheep sheds. Both people were convinced that they were offering wonderful homes so I think I'm either really odd for wanting my goats properly housed where they can sleep off the ground (goats hate sleeping on the floor) and can eat from a hay rack higher than their heads which is obviously impossible in a 4 foot high wooden kennel type place. Heck my girls stand 4 foot high. They'd have had to bend their legs to creep into the sheds what_the_heck

Maybe my standards are too high for wanting spacious light accommodation raised sleeping platforms and hay racks high up. Things have changed. 20 years ago my standards were the norm'. Nowadays it seems to be more a case of "what's the minimum I can get away with". Hey ho the search for responsible new owners for Betty, Phoebe, Louise, Sara, Penny and Annie goes on.

I hope you find a good home. I will only ever keep animals if I can give them proper homes. My French farmer neighbor laughs at how spoilt my chickens are and we don't eat them!
I have an expat here with 40 goats to rehome he wants to go in groups and wants to be sure they will be properly cared for, you are not alone

Oh, how sad that people don't want animals to be kept in a decent way.  I do hope you have some luck soon.

I'll try that again!
