We should be taking delivery of four more pigs next weekend - this will be our second lot.  The other four are now residing in our freezers (ours being myself and hubby and our friends who do the pigs with us).

We have moved the arc to a more sheltered location and need to get it all fenced in this weekend ready for them arriving next weekend.  These ones are Gloucester Old Spot Tamworth X.

One is destined for a charity hog roast to raise money for the air ambulance (we were going to do it ourselves but I think now we will get the local Round Table involved and we will just donate the hog); one is destined to be split between us and the other two have been presold to four friends.  They will pay £20 per month per half pig for the next 6 to 7 months and that should cover the cost of the pig, the food and a small profit for ourselves.  They will pay for their own butchering.

These ones are very cute - black with brown spots.

Just catching up with older posts, Debih, and saw this.

I think you are making great progress and I love your Pay As You Eat scheme smile

Shame you are nor living a little further south as we would love to have some of the GOS X Tamworth to try it.

Do keep us posted on this and any other projects you start. ok

wave  Allow me to introduce you to our four little piggies who arrived on Saturday.  Aren't they handsome young men.  We are so excited about it.  This is them in their temporary home till the fencing is done in the walled garden at the caravan park.  Of course I haven't managed to actually see them yet seeing as I am snowed in.  aargh

Aah - eeny, meeny, miny and mo - bless 'em!    big_hug

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

Ooh, Tamworths, aren't they smashing?

I'll try that again!
