Now have the incubator, friend hatched 5 chicks. Her ducks are sitting so didn't pit any duck eggs in. I now have 2 of my Rouen duck eggs in and 13 Muscovy that were given to me. 14th April should be hatch day.

We have to get them locally. Apparently P&T won't post them abroad because they might take too long and they often go through an x-ray that doesn't do them any good - that's what they said. A friend of mine said there were some places that did sell different breeds, but we have to get to them.roll_eyes

my incubator controls the humidity by pumping water onto a piece of blotting paper when needed. You do need to keep the humidity up to between 40 and 50% until the last few days of hatch time when it needs to go up to 65%. The eggs also need turning every 30 mins to 1 hour to prevent the embryo sticking to the sides of the shell, my incubator also does this automatically. Turning stops 3 days before hatch is due. I hope this helps. Without knowing what sort of incubator you have it is hard to now what to tell you. You can always google your incubator and find out how to achieve the humidity level needed.smile Hope it is successfulok

Yes start rotating from day 1, mother hen would normally do that! Put a mark on the eggs so you can tell which way and how far you have rotated! Chicken eggs normally take around 21 days to hatch. Keep us posted!
I have 15 duck eggs in my incubator due 14th April!
