We have a late batch of chicks hatching and one of them seems unable to unfurl his legs and claws. Is this something that will happen in time or should we do the unthinkable and destroy him? - Though I don't think he's in any pain...

waveHi Sarah.   This doesn't sound very good. However nature sometimes knows best.  I had one a few months ago that could hardly walk and we went to destroy it.  I thought its leg was broken but when we caught it, it was obvious it was not.  It got a reprieve.  Now you would never know it had had so much of a struggle to survive.  

Can your chicken get to its feet at all?
