Following on from Michelle's suggestion . . .

We will lock the original Achievements for the day thread. As she said, let it be a mini time capsule for 2010.

It's the best thread on this forum IMO.

Today I finally sorted out the top of the wardrobe in the spare room adding a few things to the charity pile and selling a couple of others. For an encore I tidied the hotpress, so everything's lined up in proper order again.

Well apart from my cooking stuff (see – what are you cooking today) – took dog for nice long walk to break in my new walking boots, but then didn't wear them as I ddidn't want to get them dirty (tut).

Further apple tree pruning done, tidied polytunnel (a bit) – threw out geraniums that I was trying to keep (mouldy), sorted out a load of OH's mums stuff that was dumped in a pile in the corner when we moved her from her shelter housing to the nursing home. busy busy busy

Shereen, where do you get the energy to do things like that?  Or you Janet?  Tut for not wearing your new shoes!  Shelley, good luck with all of that.

Today I bought a new phone simply because my old one was so old that it had to bash it to make the battery connect and the screen light up. So, today, as I walked into Tesco, past the cigarette counter I did a quick calculation of how much money I had saved by stopping smoking (£337.15 in eleven weeks!Posted Image) and bought a new phone. I wanted a basic one that doesn't do much more than allow me to make and receive calls and messages. I ended up withthis one for just under £50.00 and I'm so thrilled with it. I can even access the Interwebs if I want to. I'm amazed at all the technology in such a tiny device for so little money. It has a camera too…Posted Image

I'll try that again!

I expect they're both lost in the shed along with my sense of humour

Finished the wallpapering in the kitchen today – Hurrah! – just got the beams to re-stain, ceiling/floorboards to paint, new plaster work to paint, new carpet to buy and put in, curtains to make and then we'll be done.
