Shelley, house looks great, when can you move in?

What sort of garden do you have with it? Enough to grow your veggies?

You must be excited!

Don't put up too many more pictures though. I don't want to get my hopes up for you!big_laugh

The nice side effect if you do get the house…..

We'll all get to know someone who lives in a house like that!magic

Crossing fingers and toes for you, good luck!

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

wave  Wow, I am up late tonight and the reason being is that I have been down at the Village Hall doing a Quiz tonight.  I had ten teams which means 40 people were there.  It was a good night and I think people enjoyed it.

I had to take the Ben boy with me as I didn't want to leave him with the other dogs.  Once he got used to all the people and the noise, he settled down and behaved very well.  I was so proud of him. Thankfully his back is healing very well and the stitches come out on Monday.  It will be so good to get back to normal.

Must go to bed now.  I am so tired.  It is hard work keeping control of that lot, worse than a class of kids.  big_laugh

Hubby has nearly finished the floor in the 'bowling alley'. ok

Just to explain – this is a 2-storey barn with about 8 stalls in a stable (long time since it was used) and above it is one big space, probably for feed/grain storage, as there are openings in the floor above each stall.

Anyway, a couple of months ago, he saw a complete bowling lane, with pins and balls, scoreboard, etc for sale on e-bay, and instantly bought it. Previously it was used in a pub, and the owner had decided the pub was no longer viable, and sold it.

This summer, we will be hosting the village party** together with our next door neighbours, and we thought this would be excellent for entertaining the teenagers and anyone else who enjoys the challenge!

Hubby needed to do this before his operation for a new hip (!!) in one week's time, in readiness for the summer party.

** You may remember me asking for some recipes some while ago for this event.

BS, did you manage to get the Bowling Alley to France in one go or several?  Good luck to hubby for the operation, it should get rid of all that pain for him.

I'll try that again!

When he bought the bowling alley, there was no room for me in the car (lucky I didn't go with him, then! laugh)

So, in answer to your question, two trips it took – the first in Oct/Nov, and then this current trip.

Thanks for the good wishes, TA, ok , hope it does get rid of the pain – you can see the pain on his face atm. thumbs_down

thx for  all the positive word re the house; it is a little unnerving as no one does surveys apart from very basic ones here; as the house was built in 1791 though we reckon it should stay standing for a little longer!

As regards garden, we have around half of what we have now; although some will be taken up with the garage we will eventually build and there is a huge whole where an old, now collapsed pool once was!  However we should have enough to have a veg plot.

We think eventually we might rent it out over the summer hols in order that we might travel ourselves.

BS what a fantastic idea to have a bowling alley!  You must post pics when all is done.  I hope your hubby has his hip replacement soon; my step dad has had both replaced over time and his recovery was remarkably quick and the pain gone almost at once!

Today I have gathered the last of the paperwork for the mortgage, called various companies re the move, booked a van, scoured the net for a anniversary pressie for my mum and step dad, sent emails to various sports clubs etc at our new house to try and set the kids up for next year etc etc; very productive!!

I am now reluctantly tolerating my sons friend for an overnight stay before the move!

phew!!

Well done Shelley, especially for putting up with son's friends over-night.

I'll try that again!
