I had big plans this morning for Pear & Orange chutney and mango chutney, but ended up going and fetching a friend from the other side of York and spent the day keeping her occupied. She needed to be kept occupied as she's having an op on monday and as she is a big girl the doc has warned her about risks with the general anesthetic. So although not done what I planned, I've had a good day doing nothing much, and helped a good friend.

BS - good luck for hubby, hopefully it'l put an end to the pain, I've heard the results are quite miraculous on hip replacements

Ah, what a lovely thing to do Janet.  I bet your friend is feeling much better now.  Chutney can wait a day or two.

I'll try that again!

Agreed TA, I feel quite saintly..and Mike's loved it as I've not nagged him to get on with the kitchen decorating (see other posts on jobs to do list) and he's been able to sit in the lounge all afternoon and watch the footie.

A good result all round then, perhaps you should try to relax more?

I'll try that again!

Referring back to the campaign to save our Library, I just found this.  I'm so proud of everyone who took part and just hope that it all works.

I'll try that again!

Isn't it great?  I couldn't carry 15 books but it was no big deal since someone else took them out anyway.  You can see more on the Facebook page.

I'll try that again!

Finished pruning all fruit trees today, then the rain came, so made Mango chutney and also did some sweet picked beetroot.

Hubby needed to do this before his operation for a new hip (!!) in one week's time, in readiness for the summer party.

I was feeling a little unobservant BS, then I realized you said that on Saturday. I was driving on Saturday, so I wasn't unobservant, just unavailable.

You might remember my Mom went through 2 partial hip replacements in the space of a year.

If I could offer any advise, Mom always felt worse when she didn't keep up with the exercises that the doctors prescribed/recommended.

That and lay in a supply of the refreezable ice bags. They will be Hubby's best friend for quite a while. big_hug

Goodness me, I wasn't expecting 5 pages of Achievements for the day. Somehow think the chances of catching up with everything is a forlorn dream. Anyway Hi folks and happy new year, back home tomorrow and weddings all complete. cheers

Hello Joanna!

I think I can speak for us all and say we're very much looking forward to hearing all about the weddings, and seeing pics, especially of that famous stole!

My rather pathetic achievement for today is having made it to the gym this morning. Hopefully this will be the beginning of the return to the weekly regime that died last summer. Don't hold your breath though, anyone (I might hold mine, as so far it has been the only reliable method of making myself appear thinner).

Intolerance will not be tolerated.

Thanks, Michelle, I'll do that - he's been told he can bring home some morphine - frightening, ay?

He is one of those people who will 'just get on with it' though, so I'm hoping I won't have to be too much of a slave !! big_laugh  big_laugh
