Oops. I overdid it on the amber nectar last night and fell asleep on the sofa after the fireworks from London (weren't they especially fab!). Woke up at 6 and crawled to bed. didn't attempt to change into nightclothes even.
On my third coffee and life is returning to my brain. Hand-eye coordination is approaching 80% and improving.
First achievement of 2012 is posting this.

Our joint achievement as a household was to lie-in till 11. That may sound like an odd thing to call an achievement, but in a house full of cats who wake you for breakfast when then get hungry by jumping on you, biting your ear or patting your nose with a paw – claws extended – and a dog who wakes you up by barking when he needs to go to the loo, it's rare we ever sleep beyond 8 a.m., no matter how late we went to bed!

F used to have a cat named Faro before my time who would wake her by putting his paw inside her open mouth when the opportunity arose

All up for breakfast about 11. Son was the only one who stayed up till midnight. Daughter reported hearing tiny rodent-y feet overhead in the night, so I think that means sending son into to loft to put down poison. needed, but I don't know one I could borrow for a few days!
P felt like having some exercise and went out when the rain was at its worst to partially dig out a stump so it can be chainsawed off as low as possible tomorrow.

Happy New Year, everyone.
Over Christmas, I got Skype set up on my Dad's computer so we could do video chats. Shortly after midnight this morning, we got a video call and answered it and waved and shouted Happy New Year to my parent. All we could hear was my mum repeatedly saying 'no sound'. We called them back on a different computer but got the same thing.
I ended up writing 'Turn the speakers on' on a piece of paper and holding it up in front of the webcam. Somehow this managed to sort it out and they managed to hear us properly

we use skype lots for keeping in touch with family and friends as it is free. Well done for sorting the problem, at least they had the camera working which our son always has problems with!
