Thanks for your good wishes TA.  Op went OK and we are safely home now.  It's going to be difficult for a few days as OH only has partial sight in one eye and the op was on his "good" eye which has to remain covered for a day or so. I'll be dishing out some TLC until the patch comes off his eye.  Bit of a shame because it's his birthday tomorrow.  We usually go out for a meal with the family but will postpone that until the weekend.  Will be awkward for him to eat in public.  Really makes me realise how much blind people have to cope with.

Best wishes for the patient's speedy recovery, Iris. My friend's husband has just got over breaking both arms while getting off his bicycle at home. She says he's driven her quite mad while he's been in plaster.

I've managed to paint half a room today. I'll carry on this evening and hope to finish that room tomorrow. Three more to do, as fast as I can so I can have my birds back home. My daughter is looking after them for me and had a hectic morning with my two and her three all conversing at the tops of their voices. Dear Gwynn, my cockatoo, bless him, woke her at half past five because she'd neglected to cover his cage last night. I bet she won't forget tonight. It's strangely quiet here...

I've been feeding a feral cat and kitten and yesterday handed the kitten over to a neighbour's friend who has been waiting for the right one to come along. So I hope she will have a good home. I insisted that she be taken to a vet as soon as possible as she's full of worms and has ticks, poor little mite.

Thanks all for your good wishes.  OH has spent the day dozing on and off.  His eye is very sore so I have been bathing it and administering the cream as directed by the surgeon.

aargh The kitten 'escaped' from the neighbour's house and I found her back in my garden this morning. Funnily enough the woman decided she didn't want it after all. steamSadly the mother rejected it and was hissing at it. So it's asleep in a big empty birdcage for safety at present and will be going to a rescue tomorrow.

I've finished painting the living room bar touching up. That's a job for tomorrow - well, technically today.

Should probably go in the happy thread as well

11th week booked for Gite!

More importantly, several emails today from the dementia team regarding my dad, they have now taken my phone number, have dads records, arranged to see GP regarding the memory assessment and will call me sometime tomorrow to discuss the best way forward. Didn't get that far during the whole of last year. Am nervous about what they decide but know I can trust what they say. This is the first time we have had any help from dementia specialists!
