I've got the veg ready for tonight's chicken pie dinner, and found a tub of homenade gravy in the freezer to go with it all. I've also prepped the slow cooker with a beef stew for tomorrow night's dinner. Heavy on the leeks, onions and garlic; with plenty of herbs and some smoked paprika. If it gets as cold as it's forecast there may be dumplings.

Not much to report so far, was up half the night with agonising toothache :(
I did make it to church, and after that up to the local shops for baking supplies. The boy is off for a couple of days trying to get our car sorted out, so am going to take this opportunity to make him some sweet treats for valentine's day. I shall soon get started on some oreo fudge and chocolate rum truffles. I also have some black bananas which shall be turned into bread. I may go crazy and make some chocolate cornflake cake also.
plus I now have the wool I need to (finally) finish the blanket I've been making for my friend since september. I may break out the ironing board at some point too. Got to keep myself out of mischief.

You mean you are not watching Scotland being beaten by France, Rae Mond?
I keep going away to do jobs in the hope they will do better when I am not watching. Here goes the second half!

I confess, I'm shirking my 6 nations duty, though supporting the good old Eccose in spirit. I have to make the most the boy not being here to get this stuff made. he should be back before I finish work tuesday, so I only have today and tomorrow eve. Have made th fudge and done the first stage of the truffles, just gottoleave them to cool bfore shaping and dusting them.
am also hoping to convince a mutual friend to give me a lift to B&Q tomorrow eve to pick up some paint and see if i can get the bathroom painted before he gets back also. this is part valentines surprise, part because of my friends coming to stay next weekend for my birthday.
busy busy busy! if i sit still too long there's a chance I may start to miss him. pathetic isn't it?

Nope. Not pathetic. More like totally natural.
Hope The Boy is worthy of you, Rae. Sounds promising in these early days.

My concerns mostly go the other way tbh D, I wonder what on earth I did to deserve a boy as lovely as he is, and keep my fingers crossed that the karma auditors don't notice that i'm living beyond my means!

Rae Mond, when I read of all the lovely things you are doing for your "boy" and in particular for Valentine's Day, I would say he was the lucky one. Perhaps the Karma auditors love you both.

It was attempting to snow- and occasionally succeeding- here today , all day long. Hot baked potatoes and roasted veg for us tonight! I have a sudden yearning for saveloys. Has anyone seen a saveloy lately? Can't remember the last time I came across one. Last costume made, just hats to trim. Fingers too chilly for sewing this evening.

Feels chilly here too today, I wonder if we are in for some snow as the air must be damp it is not that cold really – well compared to what it has been it was only -8C today instead of -15C. Our achievement today was to slide off the road and have to be towed out by a tractor, ironically the lady who stopped to help was towed by Ian last week to help her get her car started, and she had someone in the car we know and speaks good English, she went to fetch a tractor for us – we were that stuck!

Today, I have made a lot of marmalade using Fiona's method and incorporated some clementine peel, too – it's a beautiful colour, and I've made lots !
Also lit a candle for my daughter's interview this afternoon – and she must've known, as, when she came out of the interview, she rang and said "You can blow out the candle now, because the interview went really well!"
Found an offcut of cotton fabric which will fit the curtain I am making, and then, to my amazement, found a piece of heading stiffening which fits the curtain perfectly.
I've read recently on this site about 'angels' looking over – I think they are with me today!
However – I have just looked at the maths – 2+11 – why do I have so many 13's ?

Today has been really busy. I was over at the big house getting it ready for the owners who are coming tomorrow. That was a good few hours work and quite tiring. Visitors in the afternoon and tonight I have been at a meeting of our Permaculture Group. It was really interesting and I shall post more about it tomorrow as I am too tired tonight. It has been a good productive today, but tomorrow I want to do what I call pottering – lovely – spend more time with the dogs, sort out the polytunnel plants etc, etc, etc.
Oh I forgot, today I saw my first flat worms. They were horrible. Rae Mond I could have a real rant about them!

What a great week so far, i am in the prosess of building an e-shop and spent around 12 hours on the computer sorting it out and with the computer running so slow its murder.
Tied marketing up, A big help in promoting my new venture on a site ranked no1 in the uk
And struck a deal today to have my Renualt epace signwrited for free by a large printing company in return for free advertizing on my links page,
Its amazing what can be acheved if you try, with no money changing hands,
And this is how it should be in life, if we all strached each others backs now and then life would be so much easer if you can reduce your spending witch means less time at work and more time for your self.
