I made more hat pins this morning and then surprised myself and went to the cinema for the afternoon. Really enjoyed the treat. whilst there got the last ticket for the relay of Das Rheingold from the Met in October…ooooh the excitement. I shall need my glasses for that…..

I have an appointment in Reading tomorrow, where our son lives, so have arranged to meet him for lunch.
Bless 'im, when I first asked him if we could meet, he said "I haven't got any bread, but I do have some soup."
So today, I have made him two large cod and prawn fish pies, and a 4-layer chocolate fudge cake – do you think that'll keep him going for a while?

TA the glasses I have are varifocals and I have never really got on with them for long term use since I got them in America a couple of years ago as the frames are so small which suits my face but means that the spots to see things through are not huge so reading involves having to move my head from one side of the page to the other rather than scanning with my eyes and it just drives me mad.
