Danuta, OH will be cooking but I fear there will be no wine for me tonight!  You are right Shelley, the pain went but at what price?  I shan't be taking any more of them.  BS, I had Ramipril for a while but developed the cough that most people seem to get and got the prescription changed to Candesartan, much better.

I'll try that again!

Ah, my Mum takes that one, so maybe I'll speak to the doc.

Thanks, TA.

my hair is a reddish brown; not too dark as I am almost completely grey now… the lovely asst at the hairdresser asked how long it had been since I  last had it coloured!

TA- I was given Tramadol at one point- really worked on stopping the pain, but one day I was in the supermarket staring vacantly at the packages before me thinking ooooh what pretty colours and realised that the painlkillers were not just stopping the pain but also making me completely spaced out. Coming off was no fun.

Had them again after the hip op- like cold turkey coming off them after only ten days or so! I would not recommend them, certainly not taking them for any length of time. The Codydramol still work well enough for me to get me out and about when I need to, so I'm sticking to using them  for pain 'emergencies' only. Even they rather enhance my mood though!

Achievement of the day- getting through another 3 hour appointment at the Hospital with my Mother sitting on the fantastically uncomfortable chairs in the waiting area and remaining calm throughout depite our 9.45 appointment not getting underway until at least 40 minutes later and my Mother worrying about us being late all the way there ( we were 15 mins early) and wondering, repeatedly and pointedly, if we should have set off 'earlier' i.e. at the height of the rush hour as that would have been 'quicker'…yeah, right. Her eyes are fine, no need to go back for three months, hurrah!

Well done on getting through the sitting around on uncomfortable chairs – even worse than waiting for an appointment methinks! eeek

I feel for you and your Mother Kate, it's no joke having eye tests and those chairs sound horrendous.

I took only one Tramadol, the effects of that were truly awful and I took them back to the Pharmacy this morning.  I bought some Paracetamol and Codeine and will use those when I go anywhere.  I don't know how you managed to get to the supermarket whilst taking those, I was in no fit state to drive and walking was very 'weebly'!  I shan't have them again.  monster

I'll try that again!

I will be in your boat today Kate. My Mom has been having heart palpitations since a recent surgery, and has to go in for a stress test today. At least I know how long they are going to keep her so I can run some errands during the tests.

Why is it the medical profession, no matter where or who, always seem to think that you should be grateful that they have bestowed their knowledge on you, they are right 100% of the time, and you don't have the sense to know what your own body is feeling? I had to take Mom to the emergency room for a recient spell, and the Dr basically gave her a pat on the head and a perscription for anti-depresants! Please excuse me, but WTF?

(Oh, sorry, this isn't rant and rave!embarassed)

Oh my goodness, dont get me on the doctor rant!!! They drive me totally nuts; as you say they seem incapable of grasping that you might actually know your body (or your child's, or your mother's better than you!!

Anyway deep breath and on to my achievements of the day

work, being  mum taxi, (both with a bad head/ nearly migraine)

loading up car for market tomorrow and generally getting ready

good luck with the marketness!

I have achieved very little apart from joining another forum that is taking over my life! it's a VW thing, and has over a 1000 members, so it's impossible to keep up with.

tomorrow it seems we're off to Vanfest at Malvern show ground, which will be fun,but will geet further in the way of all the house work i'm supposed to be doing. Right now i'm supposed to be working on cross stitch cards to sell for church, but i'm just having bizarre conversations about welsh and watching the sam play video games :(

As if I could! No amount of therapy could wipe you lot from my subconscious tongue

to be honest I've been being quiet out of shame, I've been super useless for the last three weeks or so, just been doing car stuff and then collapsing in front of the tv :(
