Thank you Rae.  I think the way you describe our feelings is so accurate.   Individually we cannot possibly grieve for the world.  I have not given up anything specific for Lent, but I am going to be strict with myself and keep trying to get the weight off.  But no alcohol !!!  I will still allow myself my glass of wine in the evening.

is it none alcohol wine Danast?

  LOL

no meat or chocolate here either.  So I am with Rae on that.  We dont drink alcohol anyway so we cant give that up.

from next tuesday we wont have the internet either or sky.  hooooo huuummm not sure what I am going to do. maybe join the library...

achievement for the day?

I went to work, paid taxes, used public transport both ways and wasnt sick from the wee smell of the drunk lady who decided to sit next to me at 0705 bus.  who argued with the bus drive.  I had to buy fabreeze (bad human buying chemicals), but she sat on my coat tail.  it is now in the bag to be dry cleaned (bad human even more chemicals).  why?  well when I made her get up as it was my stop, the lady behind me got off as well and said "I dont want to uspet you but she had a large wet patch on her bum where she was sat down..."  EWWWWWW   thinking about it I am trying to fight back the retching.

I think a car might be bought in the near future as I could write a book about the number 11 bus

No non-alcoholic wine here.  You have to have at least one vice.  I don't eat chocolate, crisps, biscuits, cakes etc  ( actually even if I did I would still drink wine so who do I think I am kidding!!! )

SOL if you don't have internet access  how will you manage  without us??????  We do not want to lose you.  Will you have access elsewhere?

What a nasty thing to happen to you today.  Poor woman, to be in that state, but horrible to inflict herself on others.

Morning all, my head herts from last night did over 18 hours on the computer but got loads done, got work at 12 till 3:30 then having a good change around in jades bedroom and need to go through her clothes.

jade comes up friday morning so will plant more herb seeds and clearing of the wine shelf as there is too much weight on it so herbs can go on insted and wine relocated this will give me around 11feet of shelving for the herbs but need to get lots of small round pots about 15 should do and puttting some lighting in the bay window ( orange in colour ) behind the other herbs so should give a nice affect a bit like the sun setting and with the blinds in front it should look good but also doing ice blue too for the summer time to get the cooling affect. well thats the plan.Cheers

Mutley - check your local nursey, a lot of the time they have a freebie pot bit just outside where people can dump their surplus pots and help themselves.

Sounds like a plan though - need any help with the wine 'clearing'?  WhistleWine

I'm having a non-achievement day - going home now to lie on the sofa and feel sorry for myself!  Tea

Big_Hug Ruth, hope you feel better soon. I recommend drowning whatever lurgy are beseiging you in alcohol. it's medicinal dontchaknow.

My achievement for today so far is sitting through an incredibly dull union meeting. Admittedly we were attending via video conference (euch!) and had our mics muted so they couldnl't hear us and we did spend quite a while mocking the other attendees in different offices, but it was a trial nonetheless.

This eve I shall go attend a lecture on ethics at church, then make vegherds pie for dinner. Hopefully I'll find time to fit some crochet in also.

Well today I had to go to the dentist because I broke a tooth earlier on in the week.  As I suspected, it cannot be saved, which is not good news.  I came back from town, had a lovely walk down to the shore with the dogs and found some daffodils reaching to the sun.  That cheered me up.

I finished preparing a quiz which I am running tonight in our village hall.  We hold these once a month in the winter months and they are well attended.  People just love to heckle me, but it is all good fun.  In fact I had better go and get ready as I have to leave soon.  Wish me luck!   Wink

Play week, so been off doing costumes. Tomorrow the final show.

Hope the coughs, colds, union meetings and kitchen shelves are all improving and that life without chocolate and alchohol isn't proving too horrendous .....

My achievement of the week so far is getting a complete costume and hair change for four Edwardian ladies down from 20 mins ( first costume run) to 12 mins ( first night),7 mins ( tonight). Phew!RunAway

p.s did anyonme else notice the moon tonight? It was stunning- low in the sky, big- a sliver lying on its back in the darkness.

Don't know if anyone noticed I haven't been around lately, but i've been busy lately, because......

(Cover your ears, i'm going to yell now)

I QUIT MY JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, its true. I got tired of being somewhere that I just wasn't being utialized to my full extent, and the oppertunity came back around to be a independant merchandiser (I uesd to do that before the economy tanked) so after talking it over with Dan, I gave notice and (Yelling again)....

TODAY WAS MY LAST DAY!!!!!! HURRAY!!!!!!!

The wine is at my elbow as I type this, I am so happy!!!!!

I did learn some lessons that I will put to good use this time. I'm also starting a home buisness that I can work or not as need demands, so when my schedule is slow I will have that to fall back on.

(Okay one more time)

I'M FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Yes Kate I did.  I was driving home from the Quiz about 11pm. It was so so so cold.  The sky was clear and the moon was so beautiful.  Couldn't describe it better than you did.   Wonderful!!
