Achieved today:  a walk beside my lovely canal.  Which was frozen solid, still.  In and on the ice I saw a house-brick, a pile of newspapers, a jewellery box, a log of wood, a plastic stacking chair, various cans and bottles and, of course, the obligatory supermarket trolley, Netto in this case.  I managed to get as far as our Secret Garden before the pain got too much so had a gentle stroll there before going back to my bed.  My goodness, I felt exhilarated!

I'll try that again!

wave Your secret garden looks like an interesting place to have close to you and what a fantastic project for the school children.  I love any topic that gets the children outside and really living the history of a place.

It is a marvellous project Danuta and I was so please to get there today.  They are obviously still working on it as it was very neat and tidy.  I shall try to get there when the plants have sprouted and take my camera too.

I'll try that again!

wave We had out Cancer Research lunch today down in the hall.  We didn't manage December because of the weather.  It was fairly well attended and we made over £110.  I was very pleased.  It is amazing how people pay their money have a nice lunch, but then wash dishes and tidy up.  It's great.

I was on sandwich making duty today, but one of the soup ladies made what she called red soup.  In it she only put red things  ( funnily enough)  - tomatoes, passata, red onions, red peppers, kidney beans and I think some chilli.  It was so delicious and yes, it was very red.  I am going to make it for sure.

It gladdens your heart doesn't it when people pull together like that?  Sounds good that red soup, I'd like some please...I do so love soup.  I shall be making some tomorrow, perhaps I'll try that one.  I'll see what is on offer in Aldi.

I'll try that again!

had an offer accepted on a house today; after 2 weeks negotiations!  We are soo relieved as we have to be out of our house by the 31st; we hope to be in this one by mid Feb, with a spell at friends between times; so I may be incommunicado!
