Cheesy scones….Danny, where's the "drooling whilst thinking about food" smiley?

Joanna- I do hope the stove is proving a bonus- I believe some of your cold is coming our way again next week!

Rae- hope the move-in goes well. I shall attempt to emulate your achievement by spending a day with my sister without killing either her or myself when she comes to visit on Friday.

My achievement of the day today… I suspect it was to spend the day not doing very much at all…worn out now, need an early night….but I did go for a walk into town and got some squared paper and sticky labels, and I sorted all my beads out ready to make some presents, so a day of wild excitement!

I thank people for their kind wishes. So far all goes well, he is currently busy drilling holes in walls to network his office up to the new super speedy 50 meg broadband stuff. I have been housing glassware, and out friend Joel is working on preparing a burns night haggis supper.

Cheese scones do sound yummy. Unfortunately I wont have any chance to bake for a wee while now. Tomorrow will be taken up going to London town for the sister outlaw's birthday, and maybe also some time killing handbag shopping. Maybe. And until the house, particularly the kitchen, is a bit more ship shape, baking is sort of out of the question Cry though 'im indoors has requested cupcakes, and I have been looking forward to trying out the silicone cupcake cases my mother gave me for christmas. so expect news on that score around next weekend.

I think we should all pointedly ignore Danny's attempts at rabble rousing. Clearly he's just craving the attention

Where is S.O.L? I hope to goodness that she did not take offence. Sorry

You guys are trying to be so cool, but I just know that you enjoyed that sexist male comment!

The very best of good luck, Rae. It's a big step and I sincerely hope it works out. Before he wrecks your abode with well-meant DIY works, that is. Laugh

actually his DIY is pretty impressive, he's already installed a new bathroom, plumbing and wiring and all.

And put up a new cupboard in the kitchen, and has many more plans to make this place more betterer.

As to the sexism, it's always fun to have a bit of banter. I see it took you quite a while to think of a fitting riposte. Ah well, is only to be expected from the weaker sex :P

Oh, Rae and Danuta, I can sense when you are just trying to hold your end up. Fair enough! Surprised

I will refain from repeating that level of humour, for at least a day or two.

I am simply too sensitive to withstand such a barrage of "cool". WellDone

Sorry to jump in and stir the mud back up, but at my house, I am the grillmaster, thank you very much!

I used to leave it to Dan, but took over the honors when I figured out that the reason that he liked things well-done was that was all he could manage.

My crowning achievement? A 15lb prime rib roast this past christmas, done on the grill…. I was worried to death the entire time, but it turned out wonderful!

And my achievement for the day was just relaxing. It sounds silly but sometimes that is really hard to do, especally when there is so much to be done. Wrapped in a wool blanket, hot pad at my back, cat on lap, (or as we say at my house "I am sorry, C.O.L.") movie on T.V. "Rear Window". Sigh……Cheers

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

My achievement for the day so far is getting to work at a reasonable time. It was more difficult than it sounds, as our car is off being resurrected (something to do with rebuilding the big end, I don't really understand cars, but I beleive this is BAD. We had to buy half a new engine and don't expect to get the zombie back for about two weeks Frown ) and I had to get two busses, one from Llanrumney into the centre of Cardiff, which takes about 45 minutes, and then one from the centre to the bay, which takes about 10 minutes, and having left my house at 8.15 I got to the office about 9.20, which was probably more good luck than good judgement.

Tomorrow morning will be more exciting, as I have to meet my colleague by Cardiff castle around 6.45 am as she is giving me a lift from there to the pool. Yay for early starts Confused (this was the best I could see for a sarcastic face)

My achievement so far today is to unload a whole load of books from bookshelves, one to dust them after our installation and two to get rid of the horrendous mould behind one of the bookshelves. Wall bleached (it was baddddddd) and bookshelf moved. Now I have to move all these books back. Doh

Glad you got to your office RaeMond. May it be a beautiful morning tomorrow in Cardiff to celebrate your early start. Wink
