*bows* eye thank ewe. I plan to celebrate by achieveing nothing of note for the rest of the week. If I manage to stick to that plan it will be a great achievement of itself. Curses! I am a modern day Baron of Rudigore (only female and less of a criminal).

Good news Joanna, especially with Spring on it's way- only 5" of snow, must be Spring!
Lemon and Lime Marmelade made yesterday and some beads I left by mistake at my sister's house about 40 years ago were returned to me by her at the weekend so I've re-strung them, especially pleased as some of them are types very hard to get hold of nowadays.
I have also sorted out all my cake decorating stuff and put it all in tidy little boxes in a big box, so it is all in the same place and a place I can find. Awesome.
Something to be said for being too ill to do the large tasks, little things finally get done!

Have made 4 'birdies' from this lovely website:
http://www.spoolsewing.com/blog/2008/05/24/birdies…..ll-around/
Some people are so talented!
Went shopping today for some beads, as I wanted to add some 'eyes', but all I could find were sequins, so let's hope my birdies will sparkle!

Not so mch an achievement, as a result, today got a cheque from my insurance company as a pay out for my car being written off. This shall go towards replacing the boiler, which is broken.
Also something that has made me happy today is the arrival of my good housekeeping subscription.

Today I went over to the house I look after to do some work. It was freezing and although I was moving around a lot, after about 3 hours I had to give up and come home. There was no heating on and it is a very big Victorian mansion – 8 bedrooms etc etc etc. I got really chilled today and could not feel my hands they were so cold.
Out with the dogs was next – not too far, I needed warming up.
Anyway after a nice bowl of hot soup, I then (at long last) tidied my bedroom. I seemed to have a good few books lying beside my bed and the dog hairs or as I call it the tumbleweed was awful.
Then it was time to take the dogs for another walk and I found a daffodil waving its head in a snow flurry. Very brave I thought!
I have just made a big pot of beef curry as a friend was coming tonight to work on an agenda for our Permaculture group next week. However she has just phoned to say she is not feeling good – full of the cold and coughing ( not good for a teacher trying to keep control of a class)
So she is not coming – anyone for curry!!!!!!!!!!!
PS The kitchen smells wonderful.

I have spectacularly failed at trying not to achieve anything this week. I cleared the kitchen table of the paperwork that has been dumped there for the last couple of weeks, which itself was piles that have been accruing in other places for far too long. And I've emptied the tall cupboard in the corner of the kitchen which has been accumulating post for people that don't live here anymore for over a year, so now the ironing boards and folding chairs etc are away. And I've tidied up my craft supplies cupboard a bit, and made sausage and mash for the boy,and our friend Joel (while they were out fixing the door on Joel's car, which they had replaced the other day because some lovely little tykes had bent it).
Joel will crop up increasingly often in the tales of my life by the way, as he's going to be occupying the spare room at our house while he writes up his thesis.
So I reckon i've earned a glass of wine, and to put my feet up in my sheepy slippers to read the new good housekeeping and write a lovely long letter to my friend.

Joanna, Kate, Mutley, Rae, BS, Danast -
Sorry, guys, but high achievers like you make myself and Toffeeapple feel totally inadequate.
Right, TA?
Minus one half-star for you lot, then. (TA can afford to lose 5 stars and not notice the difference ).
Naw. I guess many of us work hard over weekends but I (for one) can spend five hours on relatively minor tasks. Like listening to two entire football games.

Football? When there's rugby about to happen? Are you mad?
This is possibly a cross-over with the romance thread, but in my hosue we have each made the great sacrifice of promising not to gloat if our team wins (He's saesneg and I'm Cymraeg, bitter enemies to the death), and I have even, as a testament to how much I love the boy, sworn to stop supporting my traditional second team (all Welsh people support two teams, Wales, and whoever plays England).
Whether or not we manage to stick to this accord on saturday after our great nations clash remains to be seen. if Wales win and I really don't gloat then it may be the greatest achievement yet.
