Sounds like you have got somebody who will hold your hand through all the complicated bits. You need someone right there when you have got so many thngs going on. I do hope this is the turning of a corner.

I had gallstones and two attacks with mine. The first time I had no idea what was happening but kind of worked out it was my liver from the position of the pain. The second one was in England just after we had moved to Denmark. I already knew I had gallstones but it sure woke me up to ensuring I was on a low fat diet – lost oodles of weight and it did keep me on the straight and narrow. Someone could wave chocolate in front of me and I wasn't tempted at all because the thought of the pain was enough. Wish that was the same now, I now crave chocolate at times. Once I worked on the diet, I didn't have more than discomfort if I got a bit close to my limit.
I had keyhole too and I was out the day of surgery and fine after the gas escaped that they use (that sounds really bad and is not what you are all probably thinking ). Never have problems now.

Thanks all, it does sound like it's nothing to be worried about if I do have to have the gallstones removed, will see what the GP says next Thursday.
I feel so much better about everything now I have lots more info and a sympathetic and helpful diabetes nurse.

Sue, you sound a lot happier….I'm so glad you are feeling more confident & are getting answers to your questions from the medical profession (long may it continue). Good luck for next Thursday's a appointment with the GP, meanwhile have a good plan of all your holiday meals for you & your husband. I think your friends sound great for taking the initiative to find out from you what you can/cannot eat….it shows they really care.
Big to you for coping so well; you have had a lot dumped on you all at once.
