Sorry Kate. It must be frustrating when it's obvious your paintings are so good.

If you do go to the exhibition and see the sub-GCSE suff they accepted I recommend being overcome with helpless laughter at the most ridiculous one hanging. You'll be saving the less knowledgeable visitors to the exhibition from worrying about whether or not they ought to like it.

I blame Ruth!  In response to her post about Postal Art, I have been searching through all my art supplies to find a favourite coloured pencil, which has so far eluded me.  So I decided to search t'Interweb and found THIS lovely site…  doh

I'll try that again!

My pleasure Kate, apparently they were discontinued in 2005.  They now make a similar quality one called Prismacolor Premium, though 1Buy1 do have many of the original.  What appealed to me originally was the slant cut end, it looks so stylish.  magic

I'll try that again!

No other pencil I have tried comes near the quality of Karisma. Stylish too, as you say, I have a very large box of them that will last me years-hence my not realising they had stopped making them….the Prismacolour I have tried are ok, but not as good…sigh.

That's a shame, I've not tried Prismacolor.  I shall be buying a few Indigo Karisma from 1Buy1, it was always the most useful shade for me.

Do you have a favourite water colour?  I particularly like Rose Doré and Cerulean Blue.  Oh and Indian Yellow.  Have you ever used Atlantis Art Supplies?  They have an amazing range of stuff that I have to NOT buy…whistle

I'll try that again!

Kate, have you ever seen THIS artist's site?  I like his 'still life' pictures better than the landscapes, but they are all rather good.

I'll try that again!

Have you ever come across this company before? Many moons ago now we had them come to our embroidery class to show us some techniques we could use on fabric or for design work. It was a fabulous day and I bought some Markal oil sticks which still work and I use like stencil paints on fabrics but it gives them a very different feel and handle to regular paints. Apparently they can also be used on field trips as a portable oil paint but not tried that.
