Thankyou Toni for your kind wishes  big_hug , but no, the river is deeper than normal outside our house, and as it is the source of the river, it seems to flow very fast. There are Victorian ditches (12) in the fields opposite, which I would assume will fill first! Currently they do not appear to be even puddles!

Hoping it will stay that way! ok

Thankyou Sue, Iris, Danuta, Barbara and Eileen for thinking of me.

I'm having a bit of a lazy day, actually, in pyjamas till 11 o'clock - unheard of!! OH has given me two beautiful cards - birthday and a separate Valentine's card. (He wouldn't dare do otherwise! big_laugh)

Son has written an e-mail and asked how to celebrate. Daughter has been at a conference all week, so will talk to her later. Though they have sent great cards too !

No worries, Jan, and thanks for the good wishes.

Went to daughter's yesterday, and met up with son, too.

We had an Indian take-away which was scrummy - but after, somewhat of a chocolate overload .....

Son had brought two chocolate cheesecakes he'd made (just to determine which was the best recipe. He said!) one was a Nutella cheesecake and the other a crunchy baked one from Nigella's website, with a honeycomb topping.

Also both of them had bought a chocolate birthday cake.

Mmmm - 2 cheesecakes and 2 cakes - all chocolate ..... and did I suffer last night with a tum-ache! Phew.

So which was best? Not a Nutella fan, so would have gone for the nigella one myself.
