Actually Jan, you're right - I felt that the Nutella one was too sweet - they both were to be honest, but the baked one had more texture, still, as we brought home the equivalent of a doggie bag (think take-away boxes), we have a piece of each still to go .....

The chocolate cakes are sitting in the cool dining room, in readiness for Sunday when everyone descends on us for another get-together!  laugh

Soooo typical - I managed to get the cakes the wrong way round .  doh

The crunchy baked one is by Cadburys - see here.

The Nutella cake is Nigella's - here. (we had it without the nuts)

Nigella does love her nutella!

I have her "Feast" cookbook (signed by the author) and I'm sure there must be a recipe in there that has nutella as one of its ingredients.

Hmm, looked at both recipes and definitely wouldnt go for the nigella one, a WHOLE jar of Nutella.

the Cadbury one looks a bit rich too. But maybe worth trying some time. I suppose I'd worry that the crunchy one might go sticky by Sunday.
