OK, this is where we can meet, it is open only to residents but each one is entitled to sign in up to four guests so I will have to ask other members to sign in visitors, or I can hire one of the rooms.  I shall have to check with the steward for availability of rooms.  There is a car park next to the club and we also have an over-flow car park.  One of my friends runs her own B&B but has only two double rooms so over-nighters could make use of that facility.  Failing that there are numerous hotels in the area.

I need to know if there will be a televised football match or golf tournament on the day because we have one of those large TVs that people congregate to watch and make a lot of noise over.  In that case we might need to hire a room.

I would also need to know how many will be arriving, as soon as possible please.

I'll try that again!

Shame Ruth!  You'd be welcome at any time you feel like it!  Michelle and Dan are going to visit Barbara, in Devon…as well as all points in between.

I'll try that again!

You may regret saying that when we turn up randomly on the doorstep…  eeeknot really!

Devon though – that's me too!  ok  Michelle, Dan, Barbara – shall we make a little Devonian cluster down here?  As long as it's not that weekend…

Okay, the trip plans (more or less) look like this…

Sept 14 Land in Glasgow, Hug Danuta really long time!

Sept 15 -17 with Danuta, hop on a train on the 17th, head toward York and Janet.

Sept 18 Spend day with Janet.

Sept 19 Head towards Cambridge and Danny and Fiona.

(Danny, I'm sorry! I think Dan told you the wrong days!)

Sept 20th  Spend day with Danny and Fiona seeing sights and snuggling Min Pins.

Sept 21 Head towards Barbara in Devon.

Sept 22 Spend day with Barbara (Can you join us Ruth?)

Sept 23 Travel to Val.

Sept 24 Spend day with Val, Bucks meet up that night, hitch a ride with Kate.

Sept 25-26 Spending time with Kate doing silly tourist stuff.

Sept 27 Head home!

I hate to speak for my hostesses and hosts, (feeling like I'm getting pushy again), but if anyone is close where Dan and I will be visiting, I'd love it if they would drop in and spend some time with us!

TA, I'd be happy to help pay for the room hire, it sounds like it would make things easier.

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Lets firstly get an idea of numbers before I start thinking about booking rooms.  The main hall is rather large if you look at the link in my previous post you should see it.

I'll try that again!

Hi all. wave

I'm travelling up to Bucks by train on the 22nd so can't make the west country meet. frown

I'm travelling home again on the 25th. The 23rd would have been my dad's 90th birthday, but sadly he died on Monday. peace

Obviously I'd love to meet up with you all, but getting there would be hard. Reaching Aylesbury is easy enough, 10 minutes walk and 20 minutes on the train. A few minutes walk to the bus station, and whatever wait there is for the next bus. From there its a 45 minute bus ride to Milton Keynes. After that I'm lost.

Given that I'd have to do the trip again in reverse, it looks like I'd be spending half a day traveling. And the last bus back to Aylesbury is 7.30pm so I may as well admit defeat and give up.

Sorry folks.

Never assume anything – except an occasional air of intelligence.

We do, we also used to have a sauna, I miss that it used to warm me up on a cold winter morning when I worked weekends at the club.

I'll try that again!

Ruthie, we cross posted.  Are there no trains from Aylesbury?  I'd never find my way there but could get you from the train station?

I'll try that again!

Oh oh oh – 22nd is a week day which means me at work – no hol allowed all of Sept.  frown  Irony is that's actually my b'day as well!!  big_laugh  Damn, blast and er – other words of that nature.  I shall have to content myself with perusing the photies from afar I guess.  If your travel route allows for a swift half in Exeter any of the evenings after about 6pm let me know!!  Ditto if you need a place to stay though it looks pretty well covered.  Right – I'm hatching plans as to how I could be 'kidnapped' and smuggled out of work in a big cake and make it to the meet up – MOS – could Heather help with a Ruthdigs sized cake do you think?  big_laugh  i_am_hungry
