All,

May we please request that you respect the Christian tradition of these parts and refer to Christmas as "Christmas". and not the inane term "xmas" or the truly horrible "crimbo".

It's only a minor point, but this country respects all faiths and traditions (yaaaaay!) so let's also respect our own ones.

Thanks,

D & F

Never knowingly underfed

If you don't believe in the whole bloke stuck to a cross thing you can always call it the winter solstice, or yule, or even go crazy and plump for saturnalia.

Though anyone trying to revive winterval will probably deserve what they get!

Intolerance will not be tolerated.

Christmas it will be !!

i don't consider myself a religious person but i was brought up christian and until i discover what i am supposed to be that's the way i will play it

I think its diluted enough by all the consumerism and hype surrounding the bit about getting presents

it  would be nice to get back to being at peace with the people you meet, and having a few nice thaughts and deeds for those around us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyonebig_hug have a good one, MOS

sit down with a cupa and the urge will subside

Gosh this all seems to have started early. Not into thinking much about it at all yet but just in case I don't get on here again before the great BBQ on the beach, have a wonderful Christmas everyone and a very peaceful New Year, may you all embark on adventures new.cheers

I'm with you Danny, if you're talking about Christmas, spell it Christmas.

If your talking about any holiday, give it the respect it deserves, be it Solstice, Hanukka, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, or whatever else.

Have you ever been curious how the use of Xmas started?

I'll let the dear folks at Wikipedia share the story......

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xmas

Kind of interesting, eh?

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Very interesting.  As a non-christian I tend to resort to Chrimble - how about that Danny??!  runaway  Though to be honest I probably use them all depending how much of hurry I'm in typing. big_laugh  I'll try and remember for you 2 though.  big_hug
