Roy, just realised you were going to be bringing me some jars to the get together, I hope you knew I wasn't going to be able to make it and didn't bring them, and the mahonia - really sorry.

wave No problem ,didn't take them ,peaceful journey with no chinking in the boot. Come the cold and foggy weather we'll have to do an exchange  (a la cold war ) by walking to the centre of the Humber bridge !big_laugh

I'm with you on wine boxes! We thought it was wrong to always finish a bottle so tried a box. It seems to have the same problem but spread out more. It meant we were having a glass or two with every meal so are back to the bottle with Sunday dinner! Boxes are best for sharing I think!

Um ... what's wrong with a glass or two at every meal?? whistle

I'm back home now. Fiona and Danny, thank you so much, especially for the lovely supper and chat and, um, more than a glass or two on Friday night. It was lovely to meet everyone, especially Brightspark and Simon, whom I wasn't expecting to see. And sad to miss some people: Danuta, Janet, Mos and Mrs Mos. Maybe next year?? Well worth the long trip, and we were so lucky with the weather.

I took some photos which weren't that great, but once I've got myself sorted out I will put them on Flickr and post a link here.

Thank you so much Veronica.  I've not met Val yet, so I now know what she looks like.  Lovely to see Roy and Jean too.  I'd forgotten about Danny's beard.  I do wish I could have been there.

I'll try that again!

Veronica has written a beautiful piece to accompany her entry for Blipfoto's Our Digital Planet compy entry. there's me, Fiona, Val and Jean on the swingseat. F looks especially suspicious of the camera!

Thank you so much, Veronica. You have summed up the ethos of this place so very well.  IMO that is a contender for 1st place.

Janet, do you mean Martin's comment about Nigeria?  If you did go back a page to Danny's report on the party  post 133, where he talks of Brian describing his time in Nigeria.  If you didn't, I have no idea what you mean.  big_laugh   big_laugh   big_laugh

I was just going to point this out when the explanation popped up before I could send the post.
