It would be fantastic if you guys could make it, Veronica and Rae Mond. I have added you to the list of hopefuls, although we all realise that circumstances for everybody can easily change between now and July. Fingers crossed.

Danny, can you please put me down – no not like that – put me down to attend!! I will probably bring a friend of mine with me and if Anne is agreeable and the weather is kind we may well come over on the bike as it is only about 60 miles.

I don't think I will be able to come cry cry

The big family reunion on Cape Cod will be rapidly approaching, so I will be flying to the US within a couple of days, and travel arrangements are being made by my daughter, and I will be travelling by train–catch breath–so I am not sure it would be possible. It wouldn't make sense to try Devon-Suffolk-Devon-Heathrow, and taking all my family visiting luggage to Suffolk wouldn't make sense, so at the moment it seems unlikely. cry

So if you do come, Michelle, can you fit in Devon first? whistle

It's a Honda Pan-Eurpean ST1300, I have been 'round the block' a few times over the winter just to keep it all working but so far haven't used it for anything 'juicy' this year so far but now my refit here is almost done I will probably get away for a few days. Like the look of your's but find, for me, cruisers mean a lot of cleaning and polishing (I just want to ride!!) and I find the riding position 'difficult' with feet forward etc. so I have just an old farts bike but it is comfortable and I have a few 'toys' on board to keep me amused. Yes, if the weather is OK why not come down, we could have our own biker meet on Danny and Fiona's lawn.

Excellent idea chris, I bought this bike (and a matching one for Mike) as it was the first big bike I bought. He thought the riding position would be more comfortable for him now he's an old geezer, but he's not enjoyed it, even after fitting a windshield…so we are on the verge of deciding to sell. Heartbreaking, but they're not getting used. He quite fancied a goldwing at the time, but we couldn't find anything in the price range.

Looked at a Goldwing before I bought the Pan but too heavy and cumbersome for my type of riding, also it is a bit of a flash machine and I prefer to pass quietly by. Dependant on weather, lets do it.

Barbara – shame about that. Like you say, it would be a bit TOO hectic to try and fit in this meet-up just before a long distance flight and vacation. Let's put you on the "off season opportunity" list.

Chris and Janet – great! Potential for a biker demonstration to amuse the local yokels welldone

That B&B is next-door-but-one and is absolutely fine. Old, and with sloping floors in the bedrooms (only two bedrooms). Her garden adjoins ours.

Err Err Janet, what is an H Box – do I have one of those or is it another electronic games machine?

Thanks Danny also for warning me that the floors slope 'cos otherwise I might have thought it was the effect of alcohol.

When I was awake in the middle of the night I was being gloomy about not being able to do this, and suddenly thought, well, if Michelle and Dan will be there, I could probably convince P to come, and we could use a car share, and it might work–the opposite to the usual gloom and doom in the night  which was pleasant. This morning it seems unlikely again. So, off season it will be–just not sure which season it will be off!

Chris, the H box is the bit in the middle of the twin exhausts. Not sure of it's purpose, I suppose it equals out the exhaust discharge or something. I know one thing for certain, if you have one, it always rusts before the rest of the exhaust, had the same problem on a previous bike and ended up putting a 2 into 1 exhaust on instead.

Janet: Perhaps I have two then since my bike is a 4 cylinder job, haven't read any problems on the various blogs so maybe that is a delight for the future we'll see but thanks for telling me what it is.

If we can swing it, I was thinking about throwing myself on the mercy of anyone who would be willing to put Dan and me up for a night, and just try to see as many folks as we could see….embarassed

I don't know how much luck we will have however. I have been looking for tickets and July isn't very cheap! $1400 per person and thats economy too! I'm not giving up that easily though, I am going to keep watching and see if I can get lucky.

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!
