As promised yesterday, here is a photo of daddy hamster (daddy to the white babies), with one of the tiny 'peanut' hamsters sitting on his back.

Unfortunately, his dadda died this morning cry He was only 15 months old and was ok up to a fortnight ago, when he started to lose weight.

wave  So sorry, Mike.  It is always sad when one of our pets die, no matter how small they are.  big_hug to you and your wife.

Cheers, D. Despite us having quite a lot of hamsters (since we breed and show them), it's always sad when one dies, especially when it's one of our favourites or one which has done well in shows. We really need to move on to animals which live longer. We'd love a cat but that would be tricky with a house full of furry squeaky live cat food and a garden full of feathery cat food wink

A couple of years ago we got 2 degus from the local RSPCA. We had no idea how old they were so it was unlikely they'd live for the full 6 years. They were very cute and we've still got one left.

Remy and EmileImage Enlarger

We called them Remy and Emile, after the rats in Ratatouille. On the photo, Remy is on the left. We've still got Emile and we've tried to talk to him more and give him a bit more attention since Remy died, so he doesn't get too lonely. Since we have no idea how old he is, we don't want to buy a younger companion for him because  we'd only end up in the same situation in a few years time.

Here's a photo of Emile wearing a hat:

I started this thread so I wouldn't end up hijacking Danuta's puppy thread but it's really for anyone else to post animal photos too, so let's see some more photos...

Great photos Mike, thanks for posting them.  I do love that little peanut one.  No pets in my house, I'm afraid.

I'll try that again!

yay, it worked.

this is 'Nny (short for Johnny the homicidal maniac). He is my kitten (ok, so he's 7, but he's still my kitten, so there). He's evil and wonderful and quite insane. I love him verrrrr much.

Emile in the hat is the cutest thing I've seen all week!

Unfortunately DawsonCat heard me say that, and he gave me a hard stare worthy of Paddington Bear.

Rae, that middle photo is really cute. Cat's have an amazing knack of getting in the way!

Shereen, you do seem to have made DawsonCat angry! If ever we feed the squirrels in town, we don't tell the hamsters about it in case they think we've been cheating on them with other rodents wink

I tried to post this last night but couldn't get onto the forum - all I got was a google page telling me the page couldn't be found, but all seems to be well now.

At the weekend we were in Aberystwyth and got befriended by a cat - it was having a play on the climbing frame near the castle:

It had a collar on so we couldn't steal it whistle

Well, sort of animals - only knitted! Here!

Unfortunately my real animals are no longer around. Miss 'em, too !
