Has just called me to let us know that she is fine but her broadband isn't working as yet, we are hopeful that tomorrow or the next day will see it fixed.  She had 25 people helping her to move and they have emptied boxes and put things away in the kitchen, she cannot, therefore, find anything.  She is in good spirits and can see the Loch from her window where people leaving the ferry wave to her because they know who she is! Such fun, but she doesn't know who they are.

I'll try that again!

25 people!!  Bless her, shows how popular and loved she is.  I know how she feels about not being able to find anything…..when we moved in, Steve's brother and sister in law helped us.  Sister in law was brilliant at unpacking boxes, she just got stuck in and did it, putting kitchen things away in various cupboards……which I had to then search for and rearrange over the course of the next few days doh.  And she unpacked a big box full of ornaments and pictures which I didn't actually want unpacked until several weeks later when we'd got properly organised and decorated…..ah well, I was really glad of her help, regardless.

Send Danuta our best wishes, TA, tell her we miss her, we're glad she's settling in and can't wait to hear all about it.  Thanks for letting us know big_hug

I've told her that Aly has snow, Hattie has a cold and you are feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed.  She says that she has had to change from birdwatching to people-watching, just as much fun!  She was surprised when she heard my lack of voice!

I'll try that again!

Great news that she is settling in & had masses of help. I hope the animals are adjusting to their new environment. Send her lots of hugs. Did she ring you from home TA, if her phone is working I could call her? Or is it the lack of phone that is holding up the broadband ?

Thanks for letting us know her news!

Hurrah! So glad all went well and she had so much help.Superb.I have difficulty finding things I have put away, so the havoc 25 people must create in cupboards doesn't bear thinking about.

Hope all settling in well!

She rang me, so there wasn't much chance of it being anyone else.

I'll try that again!

wave  I'm back.   smile   smile   smile

Phew! What an absolute upheaval moving house is.  As you all know by now, I was amazed and overwhelmed by the amount of people who turned up to help me on Saturday.  When I sat down by a wonderful log fire, ( no heating till Sunday afternoon )  at long last on Saturday evening and counted them all, I was in tears.  The first lot arrived at 9.45 and by 2.15, everything was in my new flat.  It was quite incredible.  And everyone had been fed on soup, sandwiches, cake and lots of biscuits and home made goodies.  All my kitchen stuff was put away ( not by me ) and beds were made up.   I still have many, many boxes to unpack and lots of organisation to achieve, but you know there is no hurry.  Some boxes will never be unpacked until I need something!!!

On Sunday the hen run was finished and the hens came down.  They seem to have settled well and are still laying.  I collected my dogs on Monday and I have to admit they were  a bit unsettled, following me everywhere and not liking their new kennel at all.  However after a day or so they are settling well.  We have been for a walk along the beach this morning and then played ball in the wee garden.  I say wee, but I have discovered it is not as small as I initially thought.  I will have room for two or perhaps three raised beds.  Not my poly tunnel, but I can't have it all and there may be a solution for that elsewhere.

All in all, I am quite happy.  The views are very nice.  I am sitting here in the lounge watching the ferry cross over to Bute from one window and have a view right up the loch from the other window.  From the back and side of the house I look to the hills.  Oh and my next door neighbour a field away is the Colintraive Hotel!!!!

One thing that really made me feel good was that there was a wee robin in my garden yesterday.  I just have to get my bird feeders up to see what else is here.

I must be fairly settled as I have three people coming for supper tonight!

Great news that you sound so positive about your flat & the garden. Good that the hens are still laying & the dogs will settle down & get used to their kennel; after all you are the important person in their lives.  How wonderful to have all those friends to help you, just shows how much you mean to the community up there.

Good luck for all the unpacking & organising/ reorganising ….!!  whistle

Talk to you soon…champagne
