Fiona picked up Dan & Michelle in the Duchess of Cambridge wink from the station. The train was 20 mins late and parking at Cambridge station is sometimes impossible. So F pulled onto the pavement in front and took dog's abuse from taxi drivers and builders who are working there. She gave as good as she got, stood her ground and accomplished her mission. ok smooch

D & M are really lovely and easy to get along with. Plenty of conversation and laughs. After our day out in Cambridge we chatted over supper until almost 11 pm when I had to crash. doh

Today we visit the allotment and run some errands in Newmarket before heading off on our outing to Sutton Hoo. Should be good fun.

Getting ready to crawl into bed, another wonderful day!
I'll make it short and sweet.
Isn't it wonderful when you FINALLY get the chance to meet someone whom you admire so much, and you realize it's not a front, and they really are as wonderful as you think they are?
Thank you Danny and Fiona for your amazing hospitality, kindness and generosity.
The only think keeping me from bawling my eyes out right now, is the fact that I will see them again on Saturday.

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Revelation #1

Dan Sheets is a talented photographer. He took a load of shots in the garden. Some fantastic compositions. He uploaded them from his camera to Fiona's laptop so all we have to do is set up a gallery.

Very well done, Dan. Thank you very much. A fantastic present.

Revelation #2

Michelle's hero is Fiona. I may get an honourable mention in despatches but, let's face it, I am the support role, provider of laughs and whisky, cooker of a lovely supper, chauffeur to Cambridge and Sutton Hoo and the station on the way out, washer upper, getter-out-of-bed for Fiona's earlier-than-usual-mornings, maker of tea, pourer of wine etc. But I don't make the grade. big_laugh

Maybe next time kiss

wave Very quickly, Michelle and Dan are here, we had a lovely time with Ruthie, P's wifi is acting up so we are at my house, and we still have to eat!

And we will see Ruth tomorrow, while Dan gets time off for good behavior to ride on trains. big_laugh

Wonderful today with Barbara and Ruthie!

Chatted, laughed a lot, lunch and a quick walking tour of Barbara's neck of the woods.

Much fun but of course it ended way too soon! Sooooo glad you could come up Ruthie! I would have been very sad if it hadn't worked out!

Dan my dear has been such a great sport! I do think he's having fun, and will have much more fun tomorrow visiting the Devon Railway, while Barbara and Ruth have lunch!i_am_hungry

For anyone meeting up on Saturday with TA.

If any of you would like a bag-load of crab apples, I can send some on from Wilts to Kate in Bucks, and onwards to any takers in MK.

Please let me know if you'd like some - I'd prefer it if somebody used them rather than to go to waste!

Oh, I am so excited!  Val, I have found several trees, locally, which are covered in apples so I don't need any, thank you.  Or courgettes!

I'll try that again!
