Well, I thought it was about time I stopped being shy embarassed.  Oh, and I don't normally wear sunglasses in my kitchen, but when I took the first photo, the flash from my phone camera took me by surprise and I looked like a particularly shocked rabbit....so dark glasses seemed like a good idea big_laugh

OK, I can live with the sunglasses!  You don't have to be cool to cook in your kitchen but it probably helps.

I'll try that again!

"How do you spell 'Love'?" (Piglet).

"You don't spell it, you feel it" (Pooh).

'A hug,' said Pooh 'is always the right size!'

Nice to see bigger pictures of everyone rather than the little avatars, you look like you had a great time everyone. Dan and Michelle, are you home?

Home again, home again....yawn

Laying in the hotel room at 4am, I hear Dan stir.

"Are you awake?"

"Yes. You?"

"Me too."

Silence insues....

A few minutes later....

"You still awake?"

"Yeah, you?"

"Yeah.......you wanna go home?"

"Yeah......lets go home."

Got in the road by 5am.

Considering how big Portland is, this was probably a wise choice. Stopped for breakfast when we got to Corvallis, and were home by 8:30am.

I have lots of washing-packing-checking the car today.

In the coming days I am going to sit down and write up a good long "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" essay, one for each of the visits with Danuta, Janet and Mike, Fiona and Danny, Barbara, Val and Brian, and Kate and "Sir".

(And in a especally special aside, I want to thank all that came to visit us on the way. Ruth, Ruthie, Seth, Jean, and dearest TA, thank you for coming to meet! And to MOS, I am so sad that we left too soon!cry)

I do want to thank everyone who put us up in their homes, fed us i_am_hungry, were kind to us, took us around and showed us some of the wonders of the United Kingdom.

I now have a much clearer picture of why you choose to call that place home.

Its beautiful. magic

I hope you are very proud of where you live and the people you call neighbors.

At one point on this thread I said that I did want to come meet everyone because I felt that was one thing I would surely regret was not meeting as many of you dear folks as I could.

And right now I feel curiously content.

I got to meet face-to-face so many of you dear folks, I got to hold your hands and hug you all. I am so happy I did.

(Especally giving TA a hug! She's so tiny! big_laugh)

Its such an inadquate thing to say, but THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!!

cheers medicine wine magic champagne smooch big_hug champagne magic cheers medicine wave big_hug

(P.S. Dan and I have all ready decided, the next time we visit the UK we are renting a house on the beach somewhere, and YOU CAN ALL BL**DY COME AND SEE US!!!) big_laugh big_laugh big_laugh big_laugh big_laugh

I second Sue's wish to meet up with you both when you next come over.

Be careful driving to your next assignment tomorrow. I always found the jet lag hit me badly about 3 days after I arrived at my destination.

So glad you loved our little island & you got to meet such a lot of the forum members.

Take care of yourselves.  big_hug  big_hug
