I forgot to say, I have access to a good meeting place if we do get together, we have our own Resident's Club here on my estate.

That sounds perfect, TA, and no travelling for you. Fiona and I will definitely be there.

But, of course, we do hope that Michelle and Dan can come visit us, even for a few hours. Cambridge is 16 miles away and has some beautiful old university buildings. Plus Fiona's sis works there so she may be able to get us some Access All Areas passes. I must ask her when she gets back from her overseas trip.

And Dan might try his hand at punting on the river Cam cheers

wave  Oh I think a visit to you and Fiona is a must for Michelle and Dan.  She won't mind me saying she was talking about it last night and she is so looking forward to it and hoping that you will both be available.

I use it too to talk to my kids, one of which at  this very minutes has appeared online eeekYou don't need a webcam but you can use one if you want to. Some of my children have Skype on their mobile phones too.

I think it is this one that you want TA

Link - the one on the left. That is if you have Windows. By the way you can get Skype credit with that too and it just means you can call others for less, for instance hubby calls his mother for 1.4 p a minute from here in Latvia to the UKcheers

Thanks for that Joanna, I've installed it but I'm having complete brain fail at understanding it. (took me six attempts at getting my name right!) I need a microphone, could I just use the thing that came with my mobile phone?  I think it's called blue something...

I'll try that again!

OKAY! (Rubbing hands together!)

I just chatted with Dan, and we (kind of) knocked together a plan for the rest of the trip.

THIS IS PRESUMING A LOT! big_laugh

Especially since the only person we have talked to directly about anything is Danuta.

All of this is in "pencil".

I am being quite rude, I admit it, since I am inviting myself places, so if this doesn't work for anyone I am presuming on, please say so, do not be shy, just clonk me on the side of the head, that's fine! big_laugh

9/17 We head south from Danuta, towards York.

9/18 York with Janet (Please Janet?)

9/19 Head south again, Danny/Fiona/Cambridge? (Please?)

9/20 Danny/Fiona/Cambridge, head west towards Barbara (Please Barbra?)

9/21 Barbara in Devon

9/22 Barbara/start towards Val (Please Val?)

9/23-24 Val, head towards Buckinghamshire Meet-Up

9/25 Time in London being a silly tourist, meet up with Kate?

9/26 Time with Kate

9/27 Kate takes us to Heathrow, throws us at a plane, and the UK is safe again from silly American Tourists...big_laugh

I thought Kate was coming to the Buckinghamshire meeting?

I'll try that again!

Wow Michelle, your trip is really taking shape! It'll be great to meet up. TA, can I reach your venue by public transport? Oh and that's a yes Michelle for the date from me. smile

Michelle, I'm happy to fit in at any point in your schedule - if it needs re-scheduling at any time, no worries. These times are fine!

Brilliant - can't wait to meet up.  brightsparklystuff

TA, don't you have a laptop? I use Skype on my laptop, and the microphone built into the machine works just fine with it. You probably won't need one unless you make a call from your computer to someone's phone (I think?).

I don't think your Bluetooth would work, but I wouldn't be suprised to be wrong about that...confused

If anyone of you dear, lovely folks that has a Skype number that would care to share it with me, would you be so kind as to leave me a pm with it?

I have a funny feeling 5 months is going to go faster than I think...big_laugh

I KNOW I'm gonna get beat over the head for this, but I'm gonna throw it out there anyway....

Dan and my Mother and I were having dinner tonight, when a thought popped into my head.

"Dan, do you think we could get our C word card done before we go to the UK, and then I can just hand them out at the Bucks meet-up?"

(For those of you who haven't experienced one of our C-word cards, Dan is a photographer, and we do a very cheesy C-word card featuring our pets. Its very silly, and goofy, and you can only imagine what it will be like when we have kids. We'll probably traumatize them with matching sweaters or reindeer hats....big_laugh)

Dan looks at me with a blank expression.

"Ask me that again in June, would you?"

SO I got an idea.

What if for the Bucks meet-up we do a C-word party? Or early solstice if you like? Everyone was so excited about doing a hamper exchange for Christmas, but when we all though about how much postage would cost it fizzled out. Everyone bring one gift and we could do a blind exchange?

I'm just throwing it out there, do with it what you will....big_laugh

Just catching up....

Yes, I will be at the Bucks Meet-up, is that definitely on the 24th?

I could collect Michelle and Dan from that and bring them back here (South Bucks) and we could do the Windsor Castle thing/ London day/whatever.

Secret Summer Santa idea is a nice one!

Are you thinking daytime or evening for the Bucks meet? Only there are no buses in the evening from Aylesbury to MK so far as I can see.
