I didn't realise that the colleges have their own punts, Suz. Now it all makes sense. Such a lovely city. I would love to have spent student days there.

Were you there too, Kate, seeing as you are overly familiar with the Eagles? laugh

Forthcoming attractions in this neck of thw woods: the annual family wrangling over C arrangements. It almost always ends up in a huff, despite kind offers to host the main events. Amazing, given that there are only four participants doh

Never knowingly underfed

Not too bad this time around at least the heating was on when we got back, which it wasn't when we left (the joys of communal heating) but the next time we arrive back will be a challenge after being in Oz in summer and then back for a winter wedding in the UK. My daughter is having two ceremonies, the legal one in Oz and one for family and English friends in the UK so I am making a very warm wrap for the second one whistle. Somehow think I should be doing one for myself too.

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Ruth, how about this site. It gives a few ideas.

I second TA and Danuta - you were there when I wanted some vegetarian ideas for a party.

This week, ideas for my material stash, too.

Thanks to you, too.

News , Speculation & jollity :-  Joanna chickens out of capturing and hamming a wild boar. Danast didn't lose the internet all the recipes jammed it . Maggenpie went toEden , but did she eat the apple ? Watch this space for the complete unabridged edition of Heather's meddling with medlars . A new improved recipe from EP on home smoked Bulgarians she's just got to get the ventilation right . Brightspark stewed for 6hrs. on whether she needs permission to persimmon or should she treat them as roadkill . TA discovers a pantry is for storing food and not an embroidery project. Josie & Shelly gave me no Joy thanks to their hot water bath  I have toes like tomatoes and a bum (Ass) like a Mandrill . Finally beware of the carbon neutral smoke free toffeeapple sporking round the planet tomorrow . wave  runaway

Seth - I did notice that no-one responded to the persimmon question. Perhaps it's not worth bothering with, ay?
