How true! I find that helps here in Latvia but I did find I was more irritated by Danes who queue jump, as somehow I expected better of them, which is daft really as it is probably just my upbringing and expectations that meant I wouldn't. Mind you it was the first country I lived in after the UK and I quickly began to realise that expectations and manners differ and I could be just as likely to offend with my cultural norms as they could offend me (not that I am that easy to offend mind).

I get you now Sue,  I thought you meant you expected a letter as well , in that case we are definitely on the same page and I agree a proper thank you is important, after all as they say "Good manners cost nothing" – isnt' there a bit more to this saying?

Shouldn't worry I do that all the time, in fact I am accused of often making random comments out of the blue because I know what I am thinking about and expect others to as well
