Thought I would add this as I like to say good morning but do not always have achievements to post or anything else relevant so

Good morning to all parts of the globe, I guess we are now all in 2012. Not much planned for today, usual chicken duties and Sunday roast to cook. I don't have a sore head but am having a quiet day. What have you planned?

We are rearranging our upstairs so that F can use what is my office for her craftwork. That should mean that her "ranmmel" downstairs is moved and she will have her own space. She has outgrown the kitchen table.

But boy oh boy, what a load of crap I have allowed to build up over the past 7 or 8 years. I have been chipping away at it for a week and now I can see the carpet! Just the final third to be cleared by my desk. But this is where the bulk of the stuff sits so I do not expect to be finished before Mon evening. That's my plan anyhow.

wave  Having a quiet kind of day, just seeing to the hens and the dogs and the wild birds. Did a wee bit of necessary housework.  I am going out for dinner tonight to a friend's house and this time I am not driving, so will definitely have my first drink of 2012!!

Danny, I do not envy you the task you have.  I have my whole house to clear in the next 4 weeks.  eeek   Part of me is really looking forward to doing it, moving on and getting it all sorted and part of me is just dreading the whole thing.

We got a new wardrobe yesterday – a wait of 2 1/2 years doh, but it means I can finally clear out the clothes out of the cupboards in the hallway and managed to find room for the bedding too which were also in the hallway cupboards. Now I have lots of space and we can finally get into our office to start clearing that now. cheers It sure feels good doesn't it Danny

Planning was just too much of an effort today, after last night!  Someone half-heartedly suggested a walk, but none of us had the energy (anyway, the shoes I wore were only for looks, not for actually walking in big_laugh).

oooh, 1+1, exactly the kind of maths needed today – Danny must be taking pity on me kiss

Morning all. I'll be taking down the decorations today. Be nice to get back to what passes for normal around here.

Good morning wave.  Back on diet today, husband could do with losing a bit as well.  Will be writing up (at least) a week's worth of menus.  And the plan, not only for today but ongoing, is to shop less and use up what we have before shopping for more….our 2 freezers are both full, the larder is very well stocked, so I have no excuse!  Planning meals using what we have, and sticking to the plans, is key (as is maintaining my current enthusiasm to actually do it!).

wave Morning everyone.

Today I am going to make soup and a slow cooker all in one pot stew.  I'm also going to plan out and put on paper the plans I need to have for this month, that is order of packing up,  etc etc etc.  A timetable will help to keep me on track.  whistle

After me saying on the Weather thread it had not rained in daylight hours it has done nothing but rain and hail heavily.  So my first job is donning the boots and seeing to dogs and hens.  I am late feeding hens today, but the rain was so heavy they were still inside.

Good morning- we were later up today, no reason, just happened, so we decided to take down the outside icicle lights as it is a bright sunny day with a moderate wind, so ideal for taking them down- this spurred us to hit the rest of the decorations indoors.

Our Christmas tree lights which are all of twenty years old, gave up the ghost on Christmas eve, tried to revive them today, but nothing would bring them back, so they have gone to the Chrismas tree light heaven.  cry

Good morning all.  Oh, whoops, afternoon.  Another long lie-in (except I had already been up at dawn to feed the ravening hordes and gone back to bed) and now we have just had breakfast which was those Jus-Roll pain au chocolat in a tin that you bake yourself and fresh coffee.  Om nom nom.  Anyone got a recipe for making pain au chocolat from scratch, and an idea where to source those dark chocolate sticks you need?  Feeling a bit inspired now….

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and taste good with ketchup.
