big_laugh Aly!  They do get wobbly don't they?  I'm not going to risk it just yet Danuta, the winds are supposed to ease off more by 1.00pm so I'll judge it later on.

I'll try that again!

I hope it does improve as I need some shopping! Tried to do it Tuesday but supermarket shut for inventory and only Lidl open. They never have all I need!

Sorry Sue, I meant why did you have to have it?

Oh I see, TA.  My diabetes nurse said that as a diabetic with a possibly compromised immune system, and the added complications to a diabetic that bad flu/pneumonia might bring, I am now eligible to have the immunisations.

Danuta, the surgery is now practically my second home! big_laughponder

It must be a shock to your system having no heating after previously having it, Danuta, hope you get it back soon.  We have no central heating in this cottage, so are quite used to wearing lots of layers and having blankets on top of the duvet and hotties in bed (husband says I'm his hottie big_laugh).  Like you, we too had no heating when I was a child, our bedroom windows were regularly iced up inside and I can remember getting dressed underneath the blankets before I got out of bed eeek.  Must be hardier now whistle

Trying to catch up on everyone's news….

Sorry to hear about your lack of heating Danuta, I hope you've found ways of keeping warm.

Morning all

a calm start with no wind blowing. Chickens look much happier and are out in the middle of the graden rather than hugging the edges! Need to assess the damage done yesterday and make things safe. Hope to get out for a walk at some point if no rain today.

Todays challenge….have to call HMRC again to activate the sending of my new user ID to my daughter in England in the hopes I actually get it before the deadline for my tax form that will show for another year I do not earn enough to pay tax and am resident in France so they get any tax due!aargh (stop for breath here)big_laugh

I wish!!!!!  whistle

Really do have to make a start on this packing in earnest today.  I have pottered and pottered, looked at various things, but now the house is warm, I have no excuses.  I still have not made a plan of action!

However, my landlords go away today, so a nice walk with the dogs round the grounds to survey all the storm damage is on the cards.  whistle

Danuta, I hope the packing goes well. I think it is a miserable job even when I have chosen to move, and it must be really hard to do when it isn't your choice. big_hug

I agree Barbara, I hate moving! aargh

Try to think of the upside Danuta, clean out all that stuff you no longer need/want. Make someone else happy, donate that stuff to a good cause, a charity shop or something like that.

I don't have much room to throw stones, I STILL have things in totes that I haven't unpacked after 5+ years after our last move. I should just donate them without looking inside, but I'm afraid there's some "family stuff" that I would be heartbroken to loose if I did that. SO it sits…

If you can't be a shining example, be a terrible warning!

Morning all you lovely people
Bit of a grey start. Having washed my little car yesterday I would like to clean the inside today! Roast dinner to cook later and will probably do a few other bits of baking. OH will be watching footie this afternoon so I will get on with the knitting and plug in my iPod!
A nice calm Sunday!
What have you planned?

Morning all.

It's Steve's (husband's) birthday today, so I will be cooking steak, chips, stuffed mushrooms and salad, followed by homemade apple pie and cream (his choice).  He then wants to watch a film later on, though as it's sunny and not cold I'm hoping to persuade him out for a walk somewhere.

Oh, found a use for the chestnut puree laugh……a Nigel Slater recipe, he uses chestnuts (albeit chopped ones, although am sure puree will work too), sausagemeat, onions and thyme to stuff large mushrooms with, so that's what I'm doing.

wave Morning everyone

I have a roast pork dinner to prepare today, which should be good.  I am going up to the caravan site for lunch with my friend and to survey the dreadful damage from the storm this week.  From there I go to the village hall in the glen for a Development Trust meeting.  First I have been to in a while.  I must remember to wrap up warmly, because the glen hall is such a cold place.

Have a lovely day everyone whatever you are doing.   big_hug
