Hello ladies, I check it out too....well, sometimes.  Yes it's as quiet as the grave - I suppose it's because the forum was offline for so long, we got fed up with the wait and out of the habit, so moved on.  And in my experience, having been a moderator on a couple of forums in the distant past, once the administrators or owners lose interest, then the forum isn't maintained and dies a slow death  frown

Christmas....well, we don't send cards, haven't done for years, we make a donation of about what it would have cost us to buy and post cards to a charity of our choice instead.  Nor do we give presents.  We're out at friends for Christmas day, home by ourselves Boxing day, therefore nothing much to do!  I'm doing some baking for friends and neighbours over the next few days, but that's it.  We went shopping Monday and got what is hopefully a month's shopping, so I don't have to fight with the crowds anymore either, yay!  We're taking Betty to the groomers tomorrow, so she's (relatively) clean and fresh smelling and in a fit state to go along with us to our friends on Christmas day.  That was the latest date we could get her in before Christmas, so we'll just have to (try) and make sure she doesn't jump in any muddy puddles or - worse - roll in anything decaying and disgusting over the weekend!  She's definitely no lady roll_eyes big_laugh

And a big hello to you too Sue.  You must have been brave to do all that shopping, I wouldn't know where to start!  I shall be with D on the 25th and home alone the next day when he goes to visit his adopted grand-daughter.  I have six new books to read, fruit cake and Panettone to eat and a bottle of Blanquette de Limoux to drink so I shall be perfectly happy.

I'll try that again!

Well, Toni, the shopping was surprisingly painless as we went early (getting there just after the shop opened) and it was virtually empty.  As both of us hate food shopping (well, husband hates any shopping other than for tools!), my thinking is that doing a month's worth in one go is far less annoying than having to go every week.

I didn't know what Blanquette de Limoux was (other than being a white wine, probably!) so have just googled it.....so it's a sparkling white in the Champagne style.  Wouldn't be to my taste as I'm not keen on sparkling wines, but I am sure it will go down very well with the fruit cake and Panettone.  Have a lovely time, dear lady, and please give D a Christmas hug from me....and of course have one for yourself!

I am glad that it went well for you.  I hate shopping too but would be unable to store a month's worth of goods.  I am resigned to my weekly shop at Tesco which takes about half an hour usually.

I like a Fizz for special occasions but not to drink frequently.  Hugs accepted gratefully!  Have some back from me.

I'll try that again!

From me too, Toni, and to anyone else who needs a virtual hug.

We will have all the family arriving tomorrow so probably won't get to log on, so have a lovely Christmas to all.

Hello dear lady, have you been up to Scotland yet?  (sorry, can't remember when you said you were going!).

It would be lovely if the forum got going again.  And if Fiona started up her blog again, would be so nice to hear how she's doing.

Hallo all, popped in today, just to see how things are going,  think I will post on a regular Basis now, if  and when I have Time, remember TA, about your aversion to the dreaded C Word, but have so many Grandchildren, and Greats.  Please excuse Mistakes, can hardly see with these damn Cataracts. Must go. Order just arrived from Sainsburys. Tina x

It is interesting to see that two copies have appeared, as, when I typed them, an error code popped up and said that it couldn't be processed. I tried a second time, and had the same message, so I gave up. It clearly had worked, so not sure why I had that message!! Doh! brightsparklystuff
