My poor mother saw the kidney consultant this afternoon....she's got renal cancer, a 6cm long tumour.  The surgeon said she has two options, do nothing or have the whole kidney removed - he said if she was younger and fitter he would recommend it being removed straight away.  He's given her a fortnight to decide.  She's shell shocked, poor thing, as are we.  She's nearly 83 and in poor health.

I was very much saddened by this news, as you know.  I hope that, together with the rest of your family, your Mum will make the right decision for her.  You must be feeling very much beleaguered now, with all the bad news you seem to be getting.  There is nothing I can say that will make it any more bearable, only that you know how to contact me if you need to and, as usual, I send you mega hugs. xxx

I'll try that again!

Yes thank goodness....not much sun as yet, but at least there's no wind to speak of and it's not raining.

Hello all, yes nearly May already, unbelievable!

Got a bit of Storm Hannah here, not much rain but extremely windy.  We've been away on hols in a caravan in Devon this week, came back a couple of days early as we'd seen the forecast and didn't fancy being stuck in the caravan - not nice in bad weather.  Had a lovely relaxing time with very good weather prior to that, though.

Not up to much today, have just about finished the last of the washing (where does it all come from?  It always seems like a dozen people have been away with us on hols, we seem to have so much washing when we get back) and unpacked and put everything else away.  Husband's not feeling too well - nothing drastic, think it's just one of those shortlived bugs - so we won't be going anywhere this weekend.  Got a good book I picked up whilst away - the office had a pile of second hand books for sale, for a donation to charity - so I may just relax and read whilst husband snoozes in front of the TV.

I am pleased to hear that you were able to relax, not so thrilled that S is unwell and I wish him a fast recovery.

Enjoy your weekend.

I'll try that again!

Thank you Toni.  As you know, husband's 'bug' turned out to be a nasty urine infection, he was peeing what looked like pure blood a few days ago, very worrying.  It's not nearly so bloody anymore, but is very painful when he pees.  He's on antibiotics.

This afternoon my mum fell in her kitchen, she has a head injury and a suspected broken hip, she's at hospital awaiting x-rays.

I've asked for a referral to a sleep programme, as my insomnia is worse than ever, what with all our worries and my increasingly painful hip and back.  We all just seem to be falling apart.  As does our car, which is due for the MOT in a fortnight and husband doesn't think it will pass.

I keep thinking surely nothing else can go wrong....but then it does.

I hope everyone else is ok.

Morning all, have not been on for a while, but will try to do better.

So sorry to hear the News about your Mum, Sue, so hard for you, sending virtual Hugs to you.x  Am in the Garden as much as I can be now, and for the last two Days we have had Gale force Winds, they overturned my Cold Frame, underneath which I have two Tomatoes, and other tender things. SIL has managed to tie it down, looks awful, but growing more Veggies this Year, as prices are spirelling. Got my Friend coming for Dinner, it will be as easy as possible, cold Chicken, Mash, and fresh Asparagus , with Trifle to follow.  Bye the noo, am away out to do a bit more in the Garden.x

Morning all, not sure whether I am getting Visitors, but have washed my Hair, and now feel much cleaner, not that I do not wash other Areas, lol, but it just feels so much better.

Panicked that I had no Teabags, but have found some, not the usual Brand, but more a 'fall back', Brand, cheaper, but did not notice the difference.   All these Programmes about saving Money on Food, a lot of Rubbish, only includes People who already have a good Standard of living, makes my Blood boil.

As said earlier, am growing more this year, but alas, lost my first crop of Peas to the Slugs, not a Pea in sight, but saw their slimy Trails yesterday, so have dealt with things, but now will have to sow more, in a different Place. been growing them for Years, never had this Problem.  Am going to make some small Cakes, decorate some, and put Sultanas in the other half of the Mixture.  Better make a start, have a good Day all, Tina x

Hello Tina, nice to see you.  I thought about making some cakes, but thinking is as far as I've got (or likely to get!).

All I have to say today is virtually a repeat of what I said in my last post about 3 weeks ago.  Mum is back in hospital (she didn't break her hip last time, thank goodness, was just badly bruised), this time with a severe fluid retention problem, finding it hard to breathe and very unwell indeed.  She's had loads of tests, awaiting results now.  Meanwhile, doctors think it's heart related, or possibly a result of her kidney cancer worsening.

And husband has another urine infection, so he's back on antibiotics.  Not peeing pure blood this time, but it's very painful when he pees, poor thing.  The surgery will ring him on Tues with the results of his wee sample test.

Didn't get much sleep last night, didn't go to bed until gone 02.30 because of waiting up to hear about Mum - she wasn't transferred into a ward until then - and then was up before 06.00, unable to get back to sleep.  So I think I might go up for a nap this afternoon.  I see my GP next Tues for a referral to a sleep programme....I hope it does some good!

Have been through the same thing with my Mum, but at least I was able to nurse her in the time that remained to her. Feeling for you, from the Heart.x

Just going out to check on the Garden, it is miserable here today.

I see we have an interesting new member.....not that he's said anything yet laugh

Mum is still in hospital, it'll be 3 weeks tomorrow.  Husband is still suffering.....his UTI has apparently cleared up but he's still in a lot of pain whenever he goes for a wee.  He's been referred to hospital for tests, got an appointment for a scan and a cystoscopy (rather him than me!) next Wednesday.

I'm fine!  Other than knackered.  Am currently on a sleep improvement programme with an NHS referral to an online sleep clinic....going fairly well so far, apart from a blip last night.

Aren't we all just so fed up with this weather....the rain and chilly wind seems relentless at the mo.  We've even had the heating on a couple of times....it's nearly Midsummer's day, for goodness sake!

Hello Sweetie!

The new member is not the famous one of the same name so don't expect fireworks!

Stick with the sleep programme, I so want you to feel better.

Sorry that S is still suffering and I hope that things will be resolved when his next appointment comes around.

And your poorly Mum, I do hope that she will buck up when she is back at home.  I know how I always hated being in hospital.  Her domain will now be on the ground floor, yes?

Love to you all! xxx  toffeeapple

I'll try that again!

Shame, the famous one might have been quite interesting! laugh

Thank you for your kind and supportive comments dear lady, both here and on my blog.  We are relieved that husband now has an appointment for tests, it's been (and continues to be) worrying.

Yes, sis has made a lovely job of moving all Mum's furniture downstairs and arranging it all (I've seen the photos), it will make things so much easier for Mum when she comes home - and for her carers, including sis and brother.  We are hoping we'll be able to get up there to see her, once all S's stuff is sorted out, it's been very difficult for me being so far away.  And I'm torn between Mum and S with them both being unwell....I want very much to see Mum, but don't feel able to leave S whilst he's been so unwell too.

I will stick with the sleep programme, I am finding it very hard indeed at the moment, but am sure they know what they're doing and it will get better.  I hope.

I trust you and D are well?

xx
