Ruth, I've only just caught up with this thread and am sorry to see you've been having a rought time.  I hope that you and OH are now through the worst of it and things are a bit brighter.

My good news is that yesterday I managed to try out a recipe I've been mulling over for a lemon/lavender sponge cake.  Lavender-infused sugar, a few lavender flowers in the sponge mix, lemon curd filling, and lemon/lavender flower icing on top.  Looked pretty and tasted fine.  Bad news: I'd  had 2 slices by bedtime and OH says I kept him awake all night with my snoring.  Sounded like a foghorn, apparently.  Funny, I didn't hear a thing. big_laugh Note to self: don't overdo the lavender!

Gone crazy. Back soon.
