It appears my main email address (I have a few) has been hacked by some barsteward in Brazilsteam.  So if anyone gets some nasty spam-type email purporting to be from me, please just bin it immediately without opening it.  I am sorry if anyone is affected by this, please accept my apologies.  And if anyone knows what to do about it, I would be grateful for your ideas, as most of you probably realise I'm next to useless at computer stuff frown

I've run a virus scan, which hasn't picked anything up.

There's a spam email allegedly from me (it isn't, it's the hacker) going to some of my contacts, I've been informed, it's entitled 'Yes'.  I haven't sent ANY emails today, so please, people, don't open it.

I've changed my email password, fortunately I don't use that particular password for anything else so hopefully nothing else of mine will be affected.  What a bloody nuisance all this is!!  I suppose I should be thankful that this is the first time anything like this has happened to me.

already opened the email on my phone, but did not open the link in the email. But be warned you don't need to open the link just the email as this happened to me a while back with an email from my son. I have only ever contacted you and TA by my yahoo email, and neither one of you is in the contacts list so please if you get an email from me please delete it, as my account has probably already been hacked through your email. by the way you would not know that it is a nasty spam one until you open it as the subject line says hi.

Don't worry Sue , these things happen all of the time. I have not seen any signs yet that they have hacked my account. I usually know because I have my name in my contacts list and receive an email from myself. First time mine was hacked was about 2 yrs ago , just after I joined pin interest.

Here was I worried that my email account would be hacked after opening your email Sue. Funny story it was my other yahoo account that was hacked from Indonesia last night. Luckily it is an account I don't use anymore so had no contacts in it.

My main email account has also been cloned/hacked today.  Luckily my son was one of the recipients and wondered why I had forwarded a message about sheet piano music to him!!  I have changed my password on this address and quickly opened a new gmail account.  However Yahoo is not allowing gmail to transfer all my contacts - GRRR.  Last week worryingly our credit card statement arrived and we found 3 extraneous items charged to our account amounting to over £300.  The CC company acted quickly and alerted their fraud dept and a new card arrived with us swiftly.  Our account will be credited with the fraudulent charges.  What's in store for next week I wonder.  Life used to be so much simpler.....

I don't have saved contacts on any of my email accounts.    I have an excel doc that I just cut and paste from when needed, it also contains 'real' addresses (for cards/letters), phone numbers and skype details.

Oops that sounds quite sad when I type it out.
