Many thanks for all your kind wishes, they are much appreciated. I have just got back from a weekend away in Sussex (The Spread Eagle, Midhurst) having had a great time. It was a lovely sunny day on Saturday and went into Chichester for the day, wandering round and enjoyed a fantastic impromptu operatic thingy at the cross, could have taken a deck chair and sat and listened all day but was dragged away after an hour, fabulous, it was in aid of the Help the Heroes Charity. On Sunday I had a friend and his wife over for lunch – I had been their best man about 30 years ago and hadn't seen them for maybe 27 years so that was like a birthday present renewing that old friendship. Today I had lunch with another friend before making the trip back home, so a weekend filled with good things but I am knackered !! but smiling. My weight reduction campaign has been well and truly shot so will weigh myself next Monday and get back on the wagon again. Am I worried ? You guessed it. Sitting here with a glass of wine just running over my weekend and feel rather selfish in view of the terrible events going on.
But thank you again…
EP I am probably ahead of you (for a change!!).

I love that expression, so Cornish!! My brother and his wife (who now live in Bodmin and love all things Cornish) have called their boat "Proper Job"
Oops, sorry Chris for hijacking your birthday thread . Just to get back on topic, glad to hear you had a good birthday weekend, with lots of nice lunches and great company
