Hi Folks.
Thanks for all the wishes, much appreciated.
I'm still lurking :-)
On the smoking front, plenty of garlic and ginger which is wonderful.
The next item to try is fresh turmeric, my local market sells it for £1.50 a pound.

Simon, is your market in Reading?
If so, which market is it?
I hadn't realised that the turmeric grows so like the ginger - and I read that turmeric's natural ingredient curcumin has anti-inflammatory benefits; immune system boosting; and helps fight cancer and heart disease.
Quite a good all-rounder then!

A very late Happy Birthday from me!!!
I'd be interested to hear about the turmeric – they have it in my local Chinese supermarket.

Yes Reading market is located in Hosier Street and on St Mary’s Butts close to the centre of Reading opposite the church. Trading days are Wednesday through to Saturday, with opening hours to the public between 9.00 am and 4.00 pm.
Raw turmeric is like small ginger. Watch out though, the juice stains yellow like the devil.
I'll let you know how it goes.
