I like the sound of smoked turmeric Simon.

Ruth, here is a quick guide to some of the benefits of turmeric.

I'll try that again!

A very late Happy Birthday from me!!!  wave

I'd be interested to hear about the turmeric – they have it in my local Chinese supermarket.  chef

Where? Where? I thought there had to be one in Exeter somewhere! A Chinese and Indian supermarket is the only shop I can find Plymouth and not Exeter now, and it would be great not to have to go to Plymouth just for that!

Er – everywhere! wave

One closest to me is the bottom of what used to be St Thomas Station – now Shanghai Nights.  There's also one on North Street, another at the end of City Arcade on Fore Street, Yonk on Summerland Street near the bus station, BHL on King William street (nr the Black horse pub) and Tong Fong on Marsh Barton.

For Indian (also asian / 'ethnic') food either Hera (poss spelt Heera or Hira – I can't remember) on Well street (off the back of Sidwell street) or Continental Food Store on Old Tiverton Road – at the top of town.

Arrange a visit and give me a shout and we'll do the tour – how about that? big_hug

It certainly is Ruth.  My friend Amita keeps some in a salt cellar and sprinkles it on her food, you need to keep some rice in the pot to keep it from getting damp.  Her son makes a drink with it and fresh or ground ginger every morning, honey can be added if liked.

I'll try that again!

As a hot drink I presume?  Sounds intriguing and very healthy.welldone

Yes indeed, you can also substitute lemon for the honey or use both.

I'll try that again!

Sounds good, will do when we can find a day (presumably a Saturday) that works! wave
