Happy New Year to you too Shelley. Not sure it would be a good idea if all my wishes were to come true - well not all at once anyway LaughLaughLaughLaughRunAway

I keep wishing to wake up a svelte size eight; with a figure that maintains itself, with no need for diet or exercise.....  well, I am still waiting!!

No so impressed with the wish thing now!Wink

Ah yes, Happy New Year to everyone!  I feel so comfortable with you all, just like family so thank you.  (Now I'm going to use the Smooch smiley but I don't want to get that close so please imagine that it is a Hug!)Smooch

I'll try that again!

A day late, but happy new year to one and all.

I've set myself a challenge for the year.  I'm a sucker for foody magazines - the likes of Delicious, BBC Good Food, etc.  I pour over the recipes, cut them out or otherwise save them, but rarely make them.  So - this year I am going to make one Foody Mag recipe each week - so 52 new recipes in a year.

I was a bit concerned about amounts, living on my own as I do, so the recipes will have to be splittable or freezable (or, preferably,  both) and they must not include ingredients I can only use a little of and have to throw the rest away because they won't keep.

I'm starting tonight with balsamic beef and red pepper stew.  It's smelling gorgeous at the moment and will make at least three portions to freeze as well as tonight's meal.

Fingers crossed . . .

I have loads of cook books and when I lived in England and could get all the ingredients or rather decipher all the ingredients (I now live in Latvia and still learning the lingo) I used to go through them and make a monthly menu from them. Always got more difficult in the summer when we had veg in the garden because then the recipes were dictated by what was ready in the garden. Maybe what I have to do is go through all my recipes and index them by vegetable ingredients - well one day when I have finished studying maybe.
