For those who caught my comments on the steam juicer about my pregnant daughter, I have an update:  Clare was taken into hospital Tuesday evening for tests when her blood pressure shot up and baby Eliza Clare was born at 8:13 the following morning by emergency c-section.  Although she only weighs 3lb 1/2oz, Eliza is doing well, breathing on her own (well, yelling, actually) and only needs to gain weight before she can go home.  Daughter is still having BP problems but will probably come home Monday.

I am alternating between tears and euphoria and can't wait until she is big enough for me to have a cuddle :D hopefully not too long.

Well done that girl – and to you as well Suky, the waiting is almost as hard as the giving birth isn't it? Well….I did say 'almost'.

Being a Nanny myself I have to say it is a real pleasure having grandchildren, you love them in a totally different way to your children but it is still wonderful.

I do hope your daughter recovers quickly – high BP is no joke but as soon as she is home she will be able to relax a bit, and I love the names she has chosen.

Congratulations to all concerned!  What an exciting time.  Your daughter is in the best place for a cure of the BP.

I'll try that again!

Congrats to you, well wishes to the proud parents and welcome little new soul.  Love the name but here's hoping the surname doesn't begin with a G….sort of ECG…. a reminder of your daughters health at the time of delivery….eeek

Congratulations Nana

I'm a surrogate Nana, not actually being a blood relative, and it's great, you can spoil them rotten, over fill them with goodies and then give them back to Mum & dad to sort out and deal with the sugar rush – what more do you need. Brill

Thank you all smile

Big update: Eliza is out of the incubator, into a heated cot but quickly moved to a regular cot as she was too warm.  She now weighs 3lb 6 1/2oz and is feeding like a good'un. brightsparklystuff magic

I will try and add photo later when I have uploded them.
