You need to light a slow burning fire in your house, keep it going all through winter.Big_Laugh

I'll try that again!

When we had a 'Stanley' range cooker (bit like an Aga), it did just that, TA, kept the place warm.

The problem with this house is that the cellars are fully underneath and the size of the ground floor, which has a suspended concrete ceiling (don't ask, I haven't a clue Laugh ..) This means that we are a little hesitant in having such a heavyweight in the kitchen - I'd hate to see the floor give way, and find my cooker in the cellar!!!! Big_Laugh    But, I have to agree with you - wouldn't that be great?

Mmm - it is a bit of a scary thought!

Mind you - it does mean that all the floorboards that used to be there are now brilliant for giving us the heat needed in the big open fireplaces!

A little compensation! Laugh

Have you gone again TA, or do I just keep missing you?  I'm sure you didn't post yesterday - not like you at all.  Hope you are all right.  I know you were not feeling too well.  I'm writing this in case you can read but not post again.

If you click on someone's profile, it tells you when they were last on the site - TA has been on today, according to that
