The cake recipe aforementioned was from a book that is an old friend of mine. I thought I would Google it to see if it was out there second hand.

I found one copy. They are asking £99 (Yes that does read NINETY-NINE)dohyell

I just made one in my toaster, in a special type of bag which is re-useable apparently.

I'll try that again!

Although I've unpacked my prospero and had a bit of a play, I've still to make anything, obviously being away from home for nearly 2 weeks hasn't helped, plus we are still eating up Christmas cake and stollen. I so much want to bake but we have too much still to eat up.

wave  I shall use mine on Thursday when I have to bake for Forest events at the weekend.  Got two days of refreshments and then lunch of soup and sandwiches to do.  Not sure on numbers yet, but suspect it will not be too many.

I used to have some of those toaster sandwich bags - they claim you can also do fish fingers in them but they take too long. When I used to commute to Birmingham, I would make a cheese sandwich (+bacon or +black pudding if I had any) and toast it for breakfast when I got to work. After about a year they had started to split but I think I got my money's worth out of them. Now we do panini style toasties in our george foreman.
