No Chris, we've never needed to sharpen the bread knife..odd isn't it, it's from the same set as the straight edged blades that need a periodic sharpen.

(I love my Global knife!).
I got an early Christmas present from G yesterday – a set of Global knives. I was shocked as I'd asked for a chef's knife. I've used them to prepare Lunches and dinner and I'm terrified of them. No more doing a Keith Floyd while I'm cooking :-o

Lucky you, Shereen! I only have one, which I keep for vegetables. It's a real pleasure to use, so nicely balanced and easy to hold. I think you're less likely to cut yourself with a well-balanced sharp knife than a blunt one, because it won't slip.
