Tuesday night is pub quiz night.

In the winter months before the holiday makers return in their droves. I play in the Pwllheli Quiz League. and there are twenty different pub teams in the league, who answer the same questions at ten venues throughout the season. My team is playing away from home tonight and we get nice sandwiches at the end of the quiz. Does anyone else play in a pub quiz team? It certainly helps the long quiet winter months go by.ok

wave I don't play in a Quiz team, but our village hall run monthly quiz nights through the winter and I am the complier,  quizmaster, marker and general taker of goodnatured abuse. big_laugh   It is hard work, but in my very small community we usually get about 12 teams.  Folks seem to enjoy them.  smile

Yes, we play in a league.  I used to be part of the team, answering the questions, until I realised that the people asking the questions had no knowledge of the subjects covered and had no idea what the questions meant.  I then became Inquisitrix for my team.  We have been doing this for almost twenty years and now my partner feels that he absolutely can't stand another season with the ar+eholes  in our team, so we can now retire from that.

We also write a bi-monthly quiz so I think I know what Danuta goes through ~ it really is not easy.

I'll try that again!

I don't go to regular pub quizzes but occasionally do one at a pub in go to with a group of friends, it is hilarious as the young girl who asks the questions is incredibly dim and she regularly cannot even pronounce the words in the questions, but she does it all in such a lovely natured way that it all makes it part of the fun, she is very open about her ignorance and joins in with the laughter and gives as good back if there is any Micky taking. It all makes for a really fun night.

i do love general knowledge quizzes and regularly watch mastermind, just for that part of the programme, I often wonder if I applied, what would I pick as my specialist subject.
