I haven't seen the moon for a while so thought I'd check my favourite Moon site.   Now I know the reason. Doh

I'll try that again!

The moon's mass is (7.35 x 10 22  kg), about 1/81 of the Earth's mass. says this site

The moon has an apogee and a perigee, because its orbit is elliptical:

apogee – further away,

perigee – closest part of the orbit.

The period between successive apogees and perigees is known as an anomalistic month, or 27.56 days.

Amazing info can be found on the internet when you're looking for it !!!!!!

Ok

Think I need one of these now ….   Medicine

Mutley, so good to see you, but please no mathematics!  I just love to see the moon (and Venus is still there).

I'll try that again!

All I know is that when I came home the other evening to my little house on the hill, with no street lights and me thinking that I should have left a light on, it was very dark and having to negotiate a wheelbarrow, several piles of builder's rubbish and plant pots, the above information would have been very useful.  I shall mark on the calendar the rise and fall of the said object and organise my social life accordingly….or buy a torch and keep it in the car……..Big_LaughBig_Laugh

Dark? What's dark? No problems here at this time of the year Roll_Eyes. It isn't long before the Latvians stay up all night to await the sunrise – in reality it isn't such a huge feat as the sun only just about goes down. It was as bright as day at 4am this morning Steam

I nearly did but then summoned up enough energy to plant out a bed of cabbages, some lupins, yarrow and sweet williams. I also transplanted my surviving lavender plants to my mini English style flowerbed Cheers

I am not summoning up any extra energy today except to eat my tea (I'm a northerner so it's tea not dinner for evening meal, just so my American and southern friends understand).Cheers

Same as it was in the valleys, breakfast, dinner, tea and supper.  There are lots of similarities between Northern and Welsh people.  The Whit Walks for another…Smile
